Sounds like you need to have a server farm for that job!

Remember there used to be a program that when install on a bunch of compiters on a network would share tasks across the available processor and memory free time. Thought it was kinda cool, but didn't ever have anything that needed it.

Oh Man...

Our "Brilliant" Network Engineer has reconfigured the Cisco VPN so ALL private networks are in use at the company, are rounted to the VPN? That means I can't have a local private network for the pc to access pinter/scanner etc. No biggie for my Mac since it uses bonjour to find local devices, but it means I have to turn off the VPN to access my local printer/scanner with the PC, or share files with the mac. ARRRGH.

Asked and he said why would someone have a home printer not connected directly to their PC? What is this 1990?

Do not think he understands what subnet masks sre for.

The software easily can run on multiple CPUs, for a nice fee. We can even upload giant projects like this to the big boy processing server guys, but the charge a LOT to do that. They gotta pay for all the processing power. And with the gigabytes of data we are crunching we are going to be overnighting hard drives back and forth and that adds a lot of cost.

Glen, just get a Cray and be done!

I hate Windows 10 and I hate Office 2019 and I hate subscription services for corporate stuff.

Brent, me too!

Got Filemaker database installed on the win10 box. Had to re-install the 32bit version to be compatible with Outlook because despite having a 64bit 365 installs 32. and Outlook 64 and 32 are not compatible concerning apps that auto-send emails.

Looks like to get Filemaker speaking I am going to have to call powershell scritpts. It is really nice for automated tasks tell you what they are doing and what the result is.

So far, powershell hasn't been bad to work with, but I don't do too much with it.

If I described what I thought of MS and the attitude towards not for profit corporate users, I would get banned. More organic fertilizer than a slurry tank at a hog farm is the nicest I can be.

Found if add 365 licenses to a user with powershell, don't not have to actually have the licenses. It works for them anyway,

I may have to stop the processing on this computer and go over to my business partners house and put it on the 16 core i8 with 64 gig of RAM. This is just creeping along. I want to wait until it get the first of three parts done if I can.

The i8 CPU is a ton faster than my old i7 and 32 gig of RAM. It does not have the fast video card I have here, but the video card is just a small part of the processing.

After 2.5 days it has at least another day to get to a stopping point without just dumping all the processing it has done so far.

The good ol Federal banking laws evidently require our bank to get a new financial statement for the company, my personal financial statement, and my business partner. And we get to do this every year that we have to loan. I even asked why don't home owners have to go through that as lots of people have bigger mortgages than our airplane. The banker agreed it is a good question, and all he could say it was the FDIC rule banks have to follow, and the federal government is certainly not know for logic or common sense in laws.

Yea, that dang storm is coming to ruin our Saturday. Rain is forecast most of the day and possible severe stuff. We had a fun drive up Rt-66 to a great BBQ place planned. I ain't going out driving in thunderstorms just for fun.

Storms forecast here too, at least until Sunday.

The Cobra was in the drive where the dogs could reach and they desperately wanted a ride. Until I started it. The beagle was frantically searching for a back seat and the lab decided to lay down. Here is not room for a lab to lay down. Good think I only went down and around the drive and back in the other entrance since I was stuck in first unless I wanted to bop the lab in the head. Both wanted to use the side pipes as steps to get out, but since we were only two minutes they weren't hot yet. How on earth do people drive with dogs in their laps?

Yeah. I don’t nap for the most part. The infrequent days that I do, I feel like I’ve somehow failed at fully enjoying each day. On the other hand, those naps weren’t bad.

There are times on the weekend that I nap. Usually after a week of 2:00am bedtimes and getting up to work the next mornings.

2am used to be my normal bedtime when I was younger. I am no longer younger.

Yea, it is "funny" how age changes a lot of things no one warns you about.

I used to think an all-niter was staying awake all night. Now it means not waking up to go pee in the middle of the night and those are more uncommon that the times I stayed awake all night.
