Next time I would just tell them the time machine is broken and what it would cost to fix it. Then deliver the few extra feet.

We always fly with a decent about of "fat" on the project. And we have had more than a few folks ask if we have a 1/4 mile down the road. That is when we laugh to ourselves and tell them nope with a professional tone.

The most annoying is a client that is all hurry hurry hurry get it flown and delivered, and then they sit on it for months. We have off loaded the project to the RAIDs to free up room on the work computers hard drives. We have to go get it back from the archive, and make the changes.

Just got back from a TEE heart exam. Doc says I am normal with no plack. Put me on a 30 day monitor to see If I got any timing issues.

That's why you should use metal gears instead of nylon ones, and a timing chain, not a timing belt.

Yea, his dizzy is making him real dizzy and needs an overhaul.

flipper35 08-28-2019 01:15 PM

I know a guy in Oregon that does a great job on those. Needs your specs though to make sure the timing advance is correct.

RKDinOKC 08-28-2019 07:14 PM

The 928 has dual dizzy's, maybe that's the problem.

Body shop guy says he may have a buyer for the totalled Cayenne after i get the stuff i want off it. Asked me what I wanted for it. Told him whatever the body shop was going to charge to release it, and to tranfer stuff like the aftermarket wheels, painted grill, etc over to the new one. Said he would let me know.

Maybe by the time I get released to drive will have a replacement cayenne that is the same as the totalled on with no money out of my pocket.

Jim Richards 08-29-2019 12:16 AM

That would be great. :)

That is why it is smart to have insurance.

We all hate paying the premiums, but like the financial protection.

Porsche-poor 08-29-2019 07:30 AM

Morning all. Power went out here about 4:45pm yesterday. Or should I say half the building did. In our office some had lights but no wall juice other nothing. All back on this am.

GH85Carrera 08-29-2019 08:20 AM

The crazy storm that went through OKC metro cause about 100K of people to lose power. The power company has brought in a lot of help and they are working hard to get it all back on. Thy said some people in areas with a lot of wind damage may have to wait a few more days. It blew a lot of trees into the lines, and blew a lot of transformers.

We are lucky, our neighborhood is all underground utilities. The larger transmission lines have been well maintained for trees overhanging the lines. We had a 1/2 a second power loss and that was all. No wind damage at all.

At our old office we had 3 phase power. We came in one day and parts of the building were dead, and no AC. We called the power company and they had to replace the transformer on the pole 6 feet from the building.

Porsche-poor 08-29-2019 09:53 AM

We are not sure what the cause was. I only got off 15 early.

flipper35 08-29-2019 01:07 PM

We have days now and then where part of our building is out. We have a UPS on each end point and generator so no productivity is lost! I blame the IT guy for that one.

Porsche-poor 08-29-2019 01:55 PM

I work from a laptop and the server is on a UPS so I was able to save my work and go home.

RKDinOKC 08-29-2019 02:51 PM

Our network is supposed to be on generator backups, but they didn't work so it all crashed when the power went off. IT director just used it as an excuse that everything needs to me moved to the cloud.

Thought it is interesting that AWS, a cloud provider is talking about backing up cloud services locally now.

Got the 06 Cayenne Turbo with all the cool stuff from the 05. Looks like it never happened only it's now a year newer with half the miles.

GH85Carrera 08-30-2019 05:44 AM

So the folks that only see your car a few times per year will think it is the same car. Cool.

I was worried the mean boss was gonna make me go mow the yard this morning, but a line of thunderstorms is approaching, and rain is coming. So I will be out on the weekend or Labor Day, laboring in the yard.

Porsche-poor 08-30-2019 07:04 AM

Morning all. Three day weekend aka 3 days of fall yard work.

GH85Carrera 08-30-2019 07:18 AM

It is 66 degrees and raining still. 1.50 inches of rain and the rain will continue for a while longer. This is still August in Oklahoma. Almost 12 inches of rain for August. Weird. No complaints.
