David, I know it is hard, but think positive. I have little doubt positive attitude is the best medicine.

As a kinda sorta retired person, it is easy to get int the routine of just a maximum of two errands per day. Today I am up to 6 and must be exhausted! I went and got blood drawn, then a doctor's appointment, I went to the local grocery store, then to the Ceracoat place 20 miles away. Then to pick up yet another prescription, then the most important, to Walgreens to get a Valentin's day card! That would be bad news to not have that in hand on Feb 14th.

I need a nap real bad.

It is looking like I "get" to mow the back yard. Mostly to pick up all the leaves from our neighbors, and some Fescue. I will be under orders to just dump it all on the compos pile. Oh boy!

It is suppose to be 60 degrees this afternoon.

I got the back yard "mowed" but mostly picked up the fallen leaves, chopped up by the mower, and dumped on the compost pile. There was a little fescue, and a decent amount of dormant Bermuda grass. The master gardener was happy about it all.

And this morning we are getting light rain, and maybe a half inch if the forecast is right. That would be nice.

We had light drizzle all day yesterday and overnight. It is still gray and overcast. It is supposed to clear out this afternoon. It means I get to play Uber driver for Mrs. Carrera as her Macan is clean, and the Elky is a bit dirty. I may have to wash it this weekend with the warmer weather predicted.

No mowing here for a while, fortunately.

Do have to go pick up some sticks. Also haven't gotten the battery tender in the truck. Don't drive it enough to keep the battery charged.

We went to the funeral for a good friend today. It was a Catholic funeral with a full mass. I respect all religions, but wow, the Catholics have some bizarre rituals with smoke and communion and lots of stand up, sit down, stand back up 6 or 7 times.

Whatever makes the family feel best is OK. He will be missed.

Maybe it will be better than predicted.

My mother in law is 92 and all of a sudden is going downhill. Her kidneys are shutting down and she is not doing very well.

Wow, what nice weather. 72 degrees and a mild breeze. Tomorrow my be 78 degrees. I had to go wash the El Camino in that kind of weather. It looks much better.

We are getting yet another free roof. No insurance claim, and it costs us nothing. The manufacturer of the shingles is warrantying it. It has formed blisters, and the gravel is washing off. The onl;ly "catch" is that we have to use the same contractor, and we have to be the same homeowners. If I needed a roof, he is the guy I would call, so it is no big deal, just a free roof that would have cost $28,000. I like free much better.

My wife rousted me out of bed at 6:00 AM to move the cars outside, and then get a shower and the morning routine. The roofers showed up at 6:50 before dawn ready to back the trailer up to the garage doors and then get to striping the old roof off. It sounds like a bunch of really really big squirrels up there. They have a large crew, so the are getting after it. They have laid tarps all around the house to catch debris.

I can't leave unless my wife pulls out first, but we are up on our parking area, and the workers are parked along the street in front of the house.

It sure sounds quiet today. They arrived just Before sunrise and did not leave until an hour after sunrise. They had at least 8 men, but maybe 10 or 12 at some point. It was had to count them as the were all working and moving around. The roof is finished, and the ground all cleaned up.

It got to 82 degrees yesterday and set a new record. This morning it is 36 and overcast. Like last time I figured they would have a bundle or two of the roofing tiles left over. I asked to keep two of them and I asked them to haul them to my storage building.

Those bundles are really heavy, and they had one guy standing there, picking up a bundle from the pallet, hoist it in the air to hand it to a guy on the roof to grab it and take it to the place it was needed. He unloaded two pallets of them. I know for sure he does not need to go to the gym for exercise.

I am real glad that is over.

Oh, and they hauled off the two bundles from before.

Morning all. LAst Monday and Tuesday were the worst. Finally kinda feel normal. Lost a lot weight even when eating. They changed the meds to an every 12 hour pill so I'm a tad more comfortable but the usual effect of not being sleepy has kicked in so I figure that I'll just be napping a lot.

At this point probably not driving the 911 or any car for that matter.

Glad to hear from you. Naps are fine. I lost 30 pounds when I was not trying to with my weird health issues. Now I have lots of medications to keep track of.

Just keep fighting, and try hard to keep a positive attitude.

We have a steady drizzle and a whopping .04 inches of rain! I need to do some errands, but my car is clean, so I may try to wait the drizzle out.

Morning all. A much better day. Sleep eludes me but naps that go from one to another are fine for now.

My 911 is still on the lift, waiting on the alternator, but that needs a housing, and a fan to mount it to. The place doing the cerecoat sprayed it the first time and it came out the wrong color. He resprayed it and it had bubbles from the magnesium out-gassing. Crap.

They will strip it again, and shoot it tomorrow after leaving it in the oven for a long period. Of course, tomorrow I had to drive Mrs. Carrera to Enid for dealing with her mother's hospice care, and the trust she has.

So maybe next week I will get to put it back together, and get the parking situation in the garage back to normal. The El Camino is due an oil change and will be 500 miles past due by next week. No big deal, but it is frustrating.

We had a quarter inch of ice on everything form last night's precipitation. Not fun. At least I can work form home and not drive in it.

So, I know Richard would have appreciated this story and David will because of the aircraft involved.

Em wanted to have a LAN (computers on our local network) party for her birthday. She had a couple friends cancel so a few from work showed up. None had any flight sim experience but that was OK, it is not too bad to catch on for basic flight combat. We selected the year 1945 and Jacob, as always, picked a F4U-C. A 2200hp and 4 20mm cannon version of death with him at the controls. Emily and I both took D models because more ammo for us with 6 .50 cal Brownings.

Mr A knows nothing about airplanes. Grabs an ME-163 because it looks cool. I said it is a very fast glider. Then mentioned it only has a few minutes worth of rocket fuel and then you glide back down.

Mr M asks. I suggest a P-38. Fast, twin engines big elevator with lots of authority lots of machine guns, easy(ish) to fly. Just firewall the throttle and fly.

So, the 163 pilot is literally rocketing way up higher than we can get so we let him go for now. Lightning pilot is actually pretty decent as a pilot but his aim is horrible. I swoop down behind Jacob, who is chasing Em. Jacob sees me, breaks out of his fight with her to escape me so he is 1/4 mile ahead sweeping right to get us into a 1 circle. Lightning pilot says he is shooting at me, is he anywhere close. I say no, maybe he isn't leading me enough (also thinking a noob as a third leg in a 1 circle is dead). Tell him his bullets have to arrive in the same point in space where I will be, not where I am. He fires another burst at which point Jacob catches fire. I told him he may be leading me too much.

He also shot down Em shortly after while still chasing me. Good thing they weren't wingmen asking him to get me off their tail.

Anyway, it was funny. Far more to it than the brief summary above, especially the comments. Good food, good company, tons of laughter.
