Sid, I hear you say that all the time.
" No women here"
What country are you living in? :D

porsche4life 11-24-2011 04:52 PM

I should amend that statement to say,

No women here worth fraternizing with....

He lives in the country of Oklahoma. Cow, pigs and more cows.

vas930 11-24-2011 04:58 PM

Dave, did you ever ask that hot chick out from the airport?
Or did I miss that while WALKABOUT.

porsche4life 11-24-2011 04:59 PM

Rick, I don't make the rules, I just play by them...

Oh and you aren't going to be happy. I have 2.5 weeks of classes and then I am out for almost a month... :D

Sounds like most of Australia. ;)

You better turn your phone off at night..............Just sayin:D

porsche4life 11-24-2011 05:03 PM

Good luck....

My phone is always on vibrate, and it doesn't wake me up. I can sleep through about anything....

Rick V 11-24-2011 05:06 PM

Okay I will save up the insults and just let them fly at that time. :) Actually I told my boss I WAS going to take a vacation very soon

Rick V 11-24-2011 05:12 PM

Night guys, the turkey is kicking in. :)

vas930 11-24-2011 05:13 PM

Nite, Rick.

Flieger 11-24-2011 05:14 PM

I just realized. I really think that I have not played any video games since I was about 15. I used to play Need for Speed Porsche Unleashed. Once I got the Driving License I had no need for video games.

What got me thinking was some article about a robot made to recover mine collapse victims that had a controlled modeled around an xbox one so that anyone would know how to use it. Guess I dont count as anyone.

porsche4life 11-24-2011 05:15 PM

I don't play xbox a lot. But I do enjoy the occasional race on Forza, or MOTO GP..

Flieger 11-24-2011 05:17 PM

I would just be more than anything frustraded trying to learn how to drive with no feedback. Once I got it I would probably get bored. At least when I see people playing video games it never seems that appealing.

The Stijn thread is much more fun. :)

porsche4life 11-24-2011 05:18 PM

My wheel has FF.... It will take the wheel away from you if you let a 911 get to ass happy....

vas930 11-24-2011 05:21 PM

911s dont get ass happy.
Only bad drivers.

maybe. its been awhile. hell, the rear wheel is the hard one to get off.

as was mentioned, use some towels to pad things. i used a couple of moving blankets which i keep in my car at all times. YMMV

hmmm.... my jury is out on this one. but, you do have a point to consider.

Flieger 11-24-2011 05:29 PM

Maybe it is a California thing. Great roads and great weather. Electronic feedback is nothing like the feel of a real 911 wheel in your hands.

I had a fun drive yesterday afternoon with my Dad over on Mulholland (Highway, not the one by Banning).

Who needs video games with roads like this in your backyard?

Yup, I'd take moving blankets. I use one in the corolla when I load my bike in there...

and max, there are no roads like that around here...

vas930 11-24-2011 05:32 PM

Great looking car, Max.
My dad had a 74 2.7.
Bloody thing was awesome in the corners. :)

Flieger 11-24-2011 05:39 PM

Thanks. It is actually a '71, severely modded by both previous owners and my Dad and I.

Flieger 11-24-2011 05:41 PM

I got a nice Tuhle bike rack for my '83 E21 so I could take my bike to Laguna Seca for Rennsport. I used to take it in the car but that required the passenger seat pushed all the way forward, and for Rennsport my Dad was coming.

I would only take the front wheel off. Maybe more disassembly would have helped but the bike rack is nice so I can take the more bulky mountainbike to the shop if I need to. I don't have to remove anything.

The bike rack attaches to the car really simply and folds up for storage.

vas930 11-24-2011 05:43 PM

What shocks are you running, Max. ?

When you come out here we will have Magnus show you the canyons. He is great at leading drives.

porsche4life 11-24-2011 05:44 PM

I'm getting a rack for the corolla. Hauling a bike in the 944 will only be a one time thing...

Who's car will I ride in? If I come out I will most likely fly...

Flieger 11-24-2011 05:45 PM

Fronts are Koni struts, rears are Bilstein yellows (sports?).

Funny thing is that since we have very little spare time or money the car is not as sorted as it could be. If we had a lift in our garage and more space I could do more on it and being a mechanical engineering student I have no fear of it.

You can probably just tell Magnus which one of his you would like to ride in. I would go for his old favorite racecar or else the red STR.

Flieger 11-24-2011 05:49 PM

Else if my Dad would allow it you could ride in our car. He'd be fine with it if he was driving but you would not have so much fun that way. Though you would not need to worry about getting sick.

vas930 11-24-2011 05:50 PM

Any 911 for Sid.
He needs to know what he is missing.

Flieger 11-24-2011 05:52 PM

Lately I have been wondering what a well setup 914-6 feels like to drive.

vas930 11-24-2011 05:58 PM

Pretty good in race car trim, from what I hear.

Spare time is my issue on my project car. I can usually come up with the change, but the time is always and issue..

And lifts are the shiznit. We have had one my entire life, I'm not sure I will be able to function without one.

Your dad won't let you take passengers? WTF
