It works. Went into the garage today without any lights. Usually the vent action pulls the overhead door away from the seals at the top enough to let air and light thru. After stuffing towels under the heater closet doors there is no light at the top of the overhead door, ie no air is getting sucked thru the garage! And it was pretty windy today creating more flow thru the ridge vent.

I am such a weirdo to notice and figure that out.

This is a busy weekend for the PCA region. Today is a shine and show car show. It is at Pops on Rt66. Then tomorrow is the autocross. Good weather for both. I will post some pics of the car show.

Nice turnout! I need to get my car out tonight, this is probably the last weekend with temps sub 100 for quite a while.

Hope everyone's weekend is going as well as the club show and shine looks.

Talked to brother Bob.
At least he isn't writing a manifesto.
Told him about Google Duplex and he went on how the alien whistleblowers talk about planets where their AIs got too smart and took over the planets. Asked if he had ever seen the movie "The Terminator," he said no he hasn't heard of that one? Then went on to tell me I needed to spend $10/mo on some web site that has all this info on extraterrestrial stuff. Can't afford to eat, but he can afford that web site.

Told me about a paper he is writing for some advanced class based on Urantia. Think it is as close as they can get a a seminary without any accreditation what so ever. The paper is about how people do good or not and how they deal with hardships based on whether or not they have a faith that promises a happy afterlife.

Told him about the French computer scientist that tells about the huge amount of data input your brain deals with and makes decisions on. When a person dies their brain still shows activity for 7 minutes after all the electrical inputs have stopped. How people experience their whole life flashing before there eyes in just 2 seconds of those 7 minutes. Then says if it only took your brain 2 seconds to show you 70 years and stayed active for another 418 seconds with no inputs that few minutes would seem like an eternity. Going by the 2 seconds for 70 years it would have 29,260 years left of processing time to fill. Said he went on to describe how it didn't really matter if there really was an afterlife your brain would give you whatever itconcluded your afterlife was supposed to be like for the 418 seconds.

Bob, didn't understand at all. Instead told me about his out-of-body experience when he had his heart attack. Somehow it exactly matched the Urantia stuff he has been studying.

Happy Saturday, boys & girls. I'm happy to report that after around 24 hours of dark clouds and on/off rain, it is sunny in SoCal. That is all.

Oh boy, fan quit working on A/C condenser yesterday and it is supposed to get to 90°F today!
Got to 88°F yesterday and only got to 74°F in the house.
Usually keep it on 73°F and noticed it was a little warm.
Going to wait till tomorrow to call my HVAC guy.
Replaced that fan 4 years ago.

Weeeee.

We had a fun autocross today. It was a small turnout due to Mother's day. It was still fun and we got done fast and I am home by 10:30 so it is just 82 degrees. Now I "get" to go mow the lawn.

Since I drove the bosses 911 in the autocross, now I have to mow his yard. I will drink his beer this afternoon though.

TGIM?

I had a long day yesterday. The autocross was fun and rather short. I got home in time to mow and edge the yard. Then the mean bosses wife had me replace one circulation pump on the inside fish aquarium. Then the UV light on the Koi Pond outside had something wrong. It looks like the entire thing needs to be replaced. It has a leak on one fitting, and it was a one inch male thread for me to work with. I dug into my stash of PVC and found a threaded coupler and that got me to a 1 inch to 1/2 inch adapter I has and then a cap. My supply of PCV cement was just about jelly-fied but I got it to stick. That gets us through the night and now she is on the hunt to get the entire thing replaced. And she will not be doing it, I will get to. It will involve moving a bunch of large rocks to can access to the plumbing and lots of fun adapting it to the system.

Friend told me just yesterday about his dad putting his estate, 4 million cash in a trust when his dad first realized he was getting the beginnings of Alzheimer's. Friend says he only gets small payouts, basically the interest from it until he turns 62.

Nothing like that here just the fun of getting control of all the assets and then paying out to the sibs.

Did a living will for my Mom to take care of all that 15 years ago. Made my brother in charge of her assets and the executor when she passed. I was put in charge of her health care and willed all her assets except the cash that was distributed. The only reason there was any cash to distribute because I re-did her medical insurance. It was way too expensive and sucking her bank account dry.

David, at least is sounds pretty straight forward for you and not a lot of complex issues. I hope I don't have to worry about that for many years, but you never know.

I was checking the salt in the softener and noticed out 7 day average was 250 gallons per day! I was trying to figure out if there was a leak or hose burst but then realized we filled the pool.

Jim, isn't everyday Saturday for you?

Woo hoo, all it was was the starter capacitor on the motor that he didn't charge me for. Did a service and washed the condenser coils out with some kind of spray stuff then rinsed em real good. Freon stuff was good. Fan even sounds healthier. Has cooled the house 2 degrees in the last hour. Pepper isn't coming to me panting any more.

Took a long time for all the stuff in the house to warm up, so image it will take a while to cool it all off again.

Been there done that. I know your pain. My dad made me the executor of his estate. I had to put on a actual sport coat and tie and stand before a judge with my attorney and swear to execute the duties of an executor. It took many months and my brother did not have a single issue with it. I just mailed him checks.

My wife had several people come over to my parents house and give the opinion I JUST had TO rip out all the carpet, gut the kitchen and bathroom and do a total makeover. Mentally I was screaming fcuk no but kept my mouth shut.

I stuck a for sale by owner sign in the yard and got a few nibbles. Mostly people wanted me to finance the loan. I told them all, I am not a bank. Finally a 20 something kid bought it. He loved the kitchen and bathroom just like it was.

I hired a real estate broker at a flat rate, $1,000 to write up a contract, and get us to a closing company. Sold! It was sold "as is" and it is a perfect starter home for him. I just hope he is handy at fixing things.
