Nothing local on Craigslist.

Checking a work to see if they have an extra laying around.

Clouds went away and it's all purdy out now!

Don't understand why people are stupid or why stupid decisions are made. Think it has something to do with pure laziness. Have noticed their number is increasing as well as the amount of stupidity they get away with.

I think it is a geometric progression.

Have decided to sell the Alto Sax I bought in HS when in 10th grade. Friend got one just like it at the same time. My horn played and sounded better than his. Was told by college director of music and pro sax player it was a really good one and better than newer models. Said he goes thru a lot of horns finding a good one and mine was the best he had heard and played.

Saved up and paid $735 for it new. Looking on ebay and asking around the model and year are going for around $4k to $8K. New ones are $10K and up.

Happy over the hump day.

Another busy day for me. Go fly this afternoon, then process data as fast as I can get it done. Then turn around tomorrow and fly a totally different project, if the weather holds up on Friday.

General trivia.

It is astonishing how much a few tanks of gas for a Cessna 172 can cost.

$250 bucks per airplane is easy. Fill up two of em and there is no volume discount. Even if you do it every day. I still remember the first time I had to pay THREE whole dollars to fill up my car I was mad. The attendant did do a good job of washing the windows and checking the oil and checking all 4 tires air pressure. I got some green stamps for mom as well. But still $3.00 for a fill-up was nuts.

Few years ago was filling up the car. The lady at the pump next to me was (griping) about the price going up. It had gone up 10¢. She commented that she should have filled up the day before. Asked her how much gas she was getting. She said 10 gallons. Reached in my pocket and handed her a dollar bill. Told her now she spent the same as she would have yesterday. She just stood there looking between me, the price on the pump, and the dollar bill I had just handed her. She was still looking confused when I said "Have a nice day," got in my car and drove off. Don't think she was very good at math.

The company I work for manufactures oil & gas equipment & controls. When people are (griping) about the price at the pump, the company is selling products and making money. We have 710 employees. 2 years ago we had laid off down to under 300.

Yea, when the price goes up the Oklahoma economy picks up. I never complain except when I have to pay more!

I never ever pay attention to the gas prices. They are what they are. I go to the same place that you do of course. I always fill the tank. I wish I had a magic fuel tank that I could put a 1000 gallons of gas in it, and have the gas not go bad, and not weigh 6,300 pounds and be a gigantic bomb.
I guess I am stuck with a 21 gallon tank on both the 911 and the El Camino.

So, what is in Enid, or more specifically, Southard? My BiL was "offered" a transfer there.

Enid, Oklahoma?

They have lots of wheat farmers, cattle ranchers, and Vance Air Force Base. It is 90 miles to Oklahoma City. My MIL and most of my wife's relatives live there. There is one curve on a street a few miles from town. Trees are not real common. Lots of dirt roads just outside of town, which is just a few miles.

It is classic small town America. The one high school was built just after the turn of the century, and not this century. It was built in like 1910 or something. The have a local civilian airport with really good pie at the restaurant. You can fly in, and park on the ramp and walk a few steps and be in the restaurant.

Southard is closer to Canton, OK and Canton lake. Nothing much in Southard but a gravel pit as I remember. It is down the road from Okeene, OK. It is pretty much the middle of nowhere.

Thought Oklahoma in general was pretty much the middle of nowhere. Well, with the exception of Kansas.

My next door neighbor is from Enid. His dad is Veterinarian in Enid. Also has a used car lot. Think almost everyone from there is from "the Farm."

Hey Glen does your Macan have that huge glass top? If so does it open?

It has the big glass top. I don't think it opens. It has a screen and I never mess with it. I will ask the wife later.

Edit: Yes it will open. Shows what I know. I never open my sunroof on the 911. So the big glass panel does slide back.

I cheated death again. Back on the ground safely. This was a stressful one because the client was apoplectic about getting it done today and my pilot business partner is out of town flying.

Got the airplane rented, hired the pilot, get everything set up and we were successful in the task. Phew.
