Dang it.

I was notified by my credit card company my personal credit card number was potentially exposed in some big hack and they will be sending me a new card. Of course I lost no money and they said it was not one of my purchases, but some larger corporate hack.

I use that card for several automatic payments and I will get to go and update those at the various merchants and suppliers.

They are not super concerned it seems, as they said it would be several days before I received my new card, and only when I activate the new card will the old one get shut down.

Dang hackers and scammers.

Yeah, hate it when that happens. That is why I have a separate account and debit card and started using that card for all my non-automatic purchases. Just so I don't have to go to those accounts and put in my new card. Also have the advantage of if it is stolen, it is a debit card and they can not get any money that is not in my account like a credit card. Even thought I will eventually get a new card and get re-imbursed, it keeps the theives from getting very much from the card.

I just have to remember to transfer money to the card before I use it. If I forget I can use my phone to tranfer to that account.

There were not even any charges that I saw. They just suspect my card and many others numbers were stolen. Likely one of the big companies getting hacked. So they just send out new cards.

Still doing trim after I get home from work. Not too much left. An air finish nailer is great though.

Sounds like almost as much fun as a paint ball gun.

Over the last hump day of February! It's almost March.

I don't think my wife would appreciate me painting with a paint ball gun.

Just tell her you’re the “new” Jackson Pollock. Fame and fortune are on the way.

She doesn't care for the old Jackson Pollock so that might be a tough sell.

I will never understand the idiots that think a Pollock paint drip painting is worth anything. Or the banana duct taped to a wall is valuable, In one museum is a flat black square that is framed and valued at a million bucks.

I can paint a flat black square, so it ain't art. The rich folks love to throw away money on crap and brag about how much was spent on a crappy painting.

As long as my money was not used, I don't care.

Looked at a painting by Monet that was supposed to be worth a bunch.

The owners stuck their noses up at me when I said it looked like the paper laid down where he put his brushes, paints, and coffee cup while painting a real painting then signed it. They said I had no appreciation of impressionist painting.

A great uncle was an impressionist painter. He put the chemicals together that made foam in a frame over a fire so it would bubble. On one a bug flew into the foam so he painted zebra stripes on the bug leaving the rest of the piece the brown foam colors. There were two that bubbles were the same and looked alike. He bolted them together and titled it "Stereo."

Farrah Faucet used to get naked, put paints on her body, then roll around on a bed sheet. She framed and sold all she could make.

Seems the story behind the painting is more important than the actual painting.

I actually like many of the Monet paintings. They look like something, and are cool. Blobs of paint, nope I don't see it. I have yet to see a painting my Picasso I would give a dollar for. And his most expensive stuff with two eys on the same side of the face and cubisim is just trash to my eyes.

This one really did look like the paper he put down to protect the table top where he set stuff while working. But, hey, it was signed.

I wrote a check yesterday and that was the last one in that book. So I dug out the last book of 25 and figured it would be wise to go ahead an order more. It takes me 6 ot 8 months to write 25 checks, so no hurry. I just don't want to forget. So go to the bank site, it redirects me to the check site, everything is correct as far as more of the same. Cool.

The minimum order is one box of checks for $18 and change. Then it lists shipping. Standard default is over 24 bucks for expedited delivery. Nope, not gonna need that. Change that to "normal" 6 to 8 weeks delivery. 6 to 8 weeks? Whatever, I am in no hurry at all, so complete the order. I have to assume the majority of people wait until it is OMG time, and pay more for the shipping than the checks. I guess that is why I ordered them now.

Oh Great. Verizon started charging me $15 a month for mobile insurance when my phone was paid for. I did not sign up for it! My screen cracked so I tried to use it. They wanted to charge me an additional $30. I agreed. They went thru a week of their service techs not showing up to do the repair. Then the tech told me to call for a different part number. The insurance company said they would have to replace my phone for an additional $140. That's $180 total and the phone is only worth $200 trade in on a new one, $160 if the screen is cracked.

Got on chat on the verizon web site. They killed the repair AND replacement. Then refunded the $225 i have paid for this so called insurance.

What an ordeal!

Going to have to go someplace local to get the screen repaired.

That is some great insurance, for them.

Sorta like most stores that provide an extended warranty, just a racket.

Take the $225 and the cost of getting the old phone fixed, put it towards a new phone and forget getting the old one fixed.
