wow no post since the 4th. I know Glen has been busy and I'm a slacker for other reasons.

Coast was fun just a tad to windy to fly kites for long. Almost lost one to a gust, came close to ripping it out of my hands. Lots of fog as well. On two days there you could not see the water till you were standing in it.

That is me in the orange volunteer shirt as I was the lead on the tour.

Last week was a blur of activity. Getting up at 6:00 AM and not getting to bed until 10:30.

Having Hans Peter Porsche lay down in my trunk, and sign the trunk lid was the highlight. He is 85 years old. That last photo above where they are looking at my engine compartment has Hans Peter on the right and his son in the middle. His grandson was there as well.

That was at Ft. Reno, OK. I told them there was a WW2 POW camp cemetery and they went to see it. It was not part of our tour as it is a gravel road.

At the lunch stop at a Rt66 themed restaurant the Germans all ordered Chicken Fried Steak, Mashed Potatoes, and fried Okra with sweet tea. That is a pure 100% Oklahoma meal.

Then we went to the Stafford Air and Space museum. They enjoyed that as well.

My wife went in for shoulder surgery yesterday. They detached the bicep, and moved it, and of course reattached it. Then removed some of the clavicle, and removed some bone spurs and bursitis. We got there at 9:45 and did not get home until 5:00 PM.

It will be 2 weeks before she can go to physical therapy due to the bicep surgery. I got up at 6:00AM, got my shower, and then started playing nurse. She has a gizmo that pumps ice water over her shoulder, and it is full of frozen bottles of water, and some ice. So disconnect, that. Get up off the recliner, get her the the bathroom, undress her and help give her a sponge bath. She does not get a shower until Friday. Then dress her. I have lots of experience undressing women, but not much putting clothes on women. So we got that done, then the sling, then she pointed and grunted at the multiple flower pots that are not in the flower beds. All had to watered. Then get her breakfast, then get her back to the recliner and hook up the ice water gizmo.

I finally got to make my coffee at 8:00 AM. Oh yea, I fed the dogs in the there as well.

Of course she is in pain and has pain pills, be it is easy to hurt her while hooking up the sling, or getting her dressed.

The good news is in a few months, her right arm will be fixed. And she is keeping a log of when she takes the pain pills. Writing with her left hand it looks like a 3 year old wrote it.

Getting old ain't for sissies.

For me, writing with either hand looks like a 3 year old.

It is funny in that she could do it with her iPhone, and dictate it to Siri. She prefers to write with her left hand. Yet she uses Siri and her iPad all day.

I hope Mrs. Carrera gets on the mend asap. Someone has to keep you inline. possibly the dogs.

Round 12 in the books. Its hard to keep track. It was 5 rounds with one set of drugs and now 7 with another set of drugs. I have a ctscan on Monday the doc is very interested to see as the blood results tests re down she is hoping thing may have shrank some so she is on the right track.

Brent I'm with you. I got crappy grades in a lot of drafting classes cause my hand lettering sucks. Then came computers and it was not an issue from there on out.

I write so little by hand my handwriting has become less and less legible.

Today it was 9:40 before I was released from morning duty. Get out of the power recliner, use restroom facilities, get her fed, and then dogs and the fish fed. I get some coffee. Then back to the bathroom for a change of clothes, but first removed the massive bandage applied to her with strong adhesive tape. I was as gentle as possible, but it still hurt her, and that kills me.

Get her sponge bath, and then hair washed in the utility room that has a large stainless steel sink, and a spray head. We had it installed to bath the dogs, but it works for a shampoo.

She has a shirt that has diabolical tiny STRONG snaps. The shirt comes apart from front to back. her left arm is OK, so just the one side has to be unsnapped and then snapped back together and not move her arm. The snaps are very hard to press together.

I know she is hating being a patient. I will continue my duties as needed.

This was part of Porsche Parade. This is the historic Lucille's on Rt-66. Just a few miles further was ate at the new Lucille's Roadhouse in the Rt-66 themed room.

Morning all. hope all is well. It has not been a bad week just lots of tired. They changed out the break pain med and it seems to do the trick I still wake up at what seems like every hour on the hour but ready to go right back to sleep. Which is what I need over being up at 2am for hours on end.

Phew. I am still playing nurse and assistant to my wife after her shoulder surgery. The first day out of her surgery it was almost 10:00 before I got to sit down after getting up at 6:00 AM.

Today, we have things working faster. After getting her showered, and dressed, she wants breakfast, then "we" get to feed the fish in the inside aquarium, water all the potted plants, about 15 of them. Fill up the fountain, clean some alga from the Koi pond, and get her back in the recliner. Am not complaining at all, it is just part of the husband job, no pay, just more work.

I got up at 6:30 and just put on my mowing clothes, and got her into the morning routine. I got the yard mowed, took a shower and went to my hair cut appointment at 10:30.

I had planned to mow early today while it was cooler. We had a little tiny sprinkle that was just enough to wet the grass and sidewalks, and bring the humidity to the 90% range. And then of course, the clouds parted and I get direct sun. Kinda muggy.

Its just strange. Out of the blue I can get up hit the restroom and go right back to sleep. I eat at 7 take meds and curl up on the couch for another 2.5 hours nap like today and then I'm good to go for a long time. Not that I am going to complain about it...................

Round 13 done, now onto recovery week. The last ctscan found a pulmonary embolism in the right lobe. Probably caused by chemo. Google doc says no travel but in person doc says as long as not showing any symptoms I am free to go.

Listen to you real doc.

I "got" to go see yet another doc today. My right hand ring finger has developed trigger finger. He gave me the good ol steroid shot to see if the inflammation goes down. It sure beats surgery if it works.
