Sounds brilliant, Geronimo!

On a more modest scale, I picked up a BMW 320i 98 with 30k miles today. I never used to care much for BMW before, but I have seen the light. Its absolutely great to drive. Feels as new. Very happy! I should have got read of the Jeep-tractor a long time ago.

got my hands dirty, wasted a can of Wd40 and one can of brake cleaner on the case...
i so like cleaning parts, great sense of reward when you see the clean aluminium appear from under the black sticky coat of grease & dirt

No hidden surprises, no cracks or any other sign of damage so far...

Tomorrow i'll get me a big ABS plastic tub , few more can's of brake cleaner , and a few toothbrushes...

going to order me one of these :
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PORSCHE-VW-5-ARM-ENGINE-STAND-YOKE-TOOL-Made-in-USA_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem2a015e4ba8QQitemZ18 0411583400QQptZMotorsQ5fAutomotiveQ5fTools

G-man, that might be something for you as well, 5x cheaper then a P-201 , and i can't see how it would be less strong
Maybe we can team up and buy 2 for reduced shipping

I agree, although if I work all the time I don't have to talk to the wife, so it isn't too bad. I am taking tomorrow off, well from work anyway, I gotta prep the new bedside for my truck.

That is ok for me, at that price, it would be a shame not to buy it.
So if you do, order 2 and let me know.

Here are the pics I promised guys

It was the owner of the a local Porsche garage that organized a circuit day for his customers.
Food, drinks and Porsches, nice weather, over 7 kilometer of track... need I say more...

The car I rode shotgun in...

In the pitlane..

R8, completed 1 lap, crashed at Raidilllon in the second lap... OUCH

Morning, guys. Great pics, Geronimo. On a lesser scale I just managed to negotiate an oil change on my new-to-me 320. All in all, including missing tools, stuck bolts and a complete oily mess, it only took me three hours.

i cleaned up my prescioouus..

serial 6660108

first took the worst oil/dirt off it with brush and chemicals,
then pressure washed them

No surprises, no cracks, scratches, missing chunks, it's all there, and it's all good.

btw, that R8 crash looks nasty... it's like it melted or something up front..just looks weirdly deformed... is that thin aluminium or some kind of plastic?
And that front windshield... Was the driver wearing a helmet?
