Stijn was so kind to leave behind some Westvleteren beer last week in exchange for a crankshaft. I drank the first one today, together with some stompetoren grand cru cheese . Heaven!

Is that Westvleteren anything like Coors Light? I sure hope not.

I will have to see if it is imported into the great state of Oklahoma. There is a liquor store not far from my office that claims to have all the brands of beer that are imported into the USA. For a while we could get Dinkel Acker from Stuggart. Now that is gone.

At least we finally have some local made good beer in the states. Hey what the heck Budweiser is now a Belgian brew!

GH85, I doubt if you're gonna find that beer in the states.
The monks that brew this beer only make a fixed quantity every year, no less and no more.
It is even dificult to obtain here in Belgium. So if you find it over there, buy it.

Stijn, helmets are obligatory at Spa. I dunno if the driver was hurt, I don't think so but I'm not sure. There was no blood in the car that I have seen.
Front hood is all wrinkled up cause it went nose first in the tire wall.

It's not Light at all, it's 10 % alcohol
It's only sold in one place: the Abbey where they brew it, it's not officially exported, if you buy at the Abbey, the ticket says you're not allowed to resell it (not that it doesn't happen for rippoff prices on eBay)

nothing much here, do my laundry, then try and build me some kind of packaging to ship a couple of bottles to my friend in the UK.
I'm thinking cardboard reinforced with some thin wood, and plenty of filling in the form of newspapers and styrofoam...
I'm serious about my diy packaging... overkill is the only way to go.
Besides, it's another way of getting rid of the packaging materials i got laying around, saves me the trouble of taking it to the recycling park

There are some things that living in the country, just surprise ya. I was siting on my porch, cup of coffee in hand, enjoying the almost tomb like quiet right before the dawn. You know the time, where the crickets and tree frogs all seem to just take pause and watch the pending sunrise. well there in my solitude of natures beauty an owl decided to let go with a war cry, from the tree, right in front of me. Now if you have never heard an owl screech, you wouldn't understand, but lets put it this way. I still prefer my coffee to be consumed, not worn.

Yup that is me, the sudden cry from a bird of prey, has a tendency to make me jump.

just finished boxing the 6 bottles, sawed up the wooden 24 bottle crate into a 6 bottle crate
stuffed the bottles in there with newspaper padding,
then folded a bigger box i had flattened out, around it, bit of staples, bit of tape...
finished it off with some styrofoam i had found to protect the necks of the bottles... bit more news paper, some leftover planks from the crate on top of that...
more tape
now i have one big, mushroom like shaped box. it's a work of art

the bird of prey cry thing, is that because you think it's the missus?

It's a balmy 39f with a wind chill of 33f. Tires will be nice and warm.
