Good morning folks.

I did my 280,000 mile oil change on my El Camino Sunday. It still amazes me that after all those miles the oil is so clean. I have to get a reflection on the oil level on the dip stick to even see the oil level after a change. It never does get black even right before the change is due.

is the oil circulating to all the moving parts, or is it just sitting in the pan? that is truly amazing.

The oil that drains out is just dark brown not black. It has been changed every 3,000 miles for 24 years. I just did the math that is 116 gallons of oil total. Way cheaper than a engine replacement. For the first 1,000 miles after a change the oil stays clear.

So, I'm in Porsche Limbo.

I bought a porsche but I don't have a Porsche.
I own a porsche but I have never seen my porsche.
I paid for a Porsche but have never driven my Porsche...

Here's where we're at so far. I have no idea what nice heads should look like but these look pretty good to me!

Like what? I have no idea what I'm looking at. They are competent people and will shake the car down before it gets shipped so I'm not too worried.

you're looking at the 2 heads, left one shows exhaust side, right one shows intake side.
i was just kidding, it's not like they could possibly install em like that, i'm quite sure they'll align em properly

it all looks very nice

Schumi let me just say that the '06 Tacoma would make a better DD than a Boxster... I would prefer the boxster too but the Taco breaks less and is easier to fix when it does break... and with the TRD suspension they are actually pretty fun to drive... Provided its the V6

I searched through 6 pages of PPOT and no thread, it had disappeared like a fart in the wind. Then 10 minutes later it reappeared, strange. Good night that is all.
