I was reading the hackintosh website and looking how it is possible to install on a whole range of Intel based PC's... Harder to get working, but it shouldn't be too much of a problem for me.

I'm starting to feel a little Mac-ish.... I wonder when I can use the stickers?

Morning.

Night guys... getting up and getting a haircut in the morning...

Wish dave luck... he is risking imploding his internet connection I think... IDK... Hopefully he gets this hackintosh thing all figured out before I start mine....

morning y'all..

another day of kicking ass and taking names.
had me a good fight with some support tech's yesterday...
Wore out 3 support techs who had no clue, spent over an hour on hold... but i kept badgering them with facts till the 3rd one finally went and talked to somebody who did have a clue...
Worst thing of all, these guys don't even have access to the software they are supporting, the software they made and sell...
they can't even lookup the thing i'm talking about...And it wasn't a complex issue either..

Got a second case to run by them, everything get's documented, there will be some kind of follow up with some kind of manager....

As far as as my hackingtosh session.... Empire EFI would load on my laptop... Yay! It then recognized the Mac DVD... Yay! I saw the familiar, Unix style startup text... yay! Then a grey screen... Yay! Then more grey screen.... Damn.. It doesn't like the Intel video card..

The Empire EFI would not load on the Core 2, with Intel MB I was using. I may try the USB routes and borrow a Mac to get things started.

Okay an ignorant question, why would you want to run Mac on a pc? I mean I have I-Tunes on here for my Ipod, but I find Mac stuff to just be a lot of work for little return.

For me.... It's becoming a challenge...

If I can get it to work, I can also get a feel for the Mac OS and maybe help some users, instead of turning them away..

well in your case I understand, but for the "regular" computer person like myself I just don't get it. (not a fan of Mac either)

morning guys.

as for the hackintosh thing, it took me HOURS and several tries to get it loaded on my machine, and my stuff is pretty well supported. it just took several trial and error sessions to get it right. some of the hackintosh packages are better than others. IIRC, the intel video card you have should be supported, you just need the right driver package.

anyway, a couple of pictures from this morning:

Mertnin. Nice to see a Mac user is welcome here. I do run Windows 7 with VMware. Tried the boot camp thing, but just too much hassle to reboot to change OS.
