A colleague just told me that he and his boyfriend are very close to adopting a child.

Why don't they say 'associate' or something? Don't they have to explain to everybody what pard means? It means parTner... Why don't you say parTner then?? Because of all the homos.....

Associate could be anything. He is trying to infer that the guy is a part owner of the airplane. In fact they formed a company that legally owns the airplane and each of them is ½ owner of the company. They are business partners and friends, but not anything beyond that.
