I was at work for 11hrs today... Rode the floor buffer most of that.... Then came home and got the car back down on its wheels. I'm beat...
Had to run a skunk out of the dogs yard... They had the little thing cornered next to the house so I couldn't just drop it. Got it running across the yard. I think I winged him but he got away.... |

mass tracking sheet on the boxster has begun. removed & weighed the passenger seat, rear carpet set, & rear speaker box.
That was a grand total of 90+ lbs. Plus the spare tire which I haven't weighed yet. Took the car out and I like what I feel. Stock the car is around 2850. It would be a lot more fun down around 2650.

Sid- for the 944? It's somewhere... man I don't know where though. I started one 2 years ago when I got the track car project, that is when I stripped and weighed everything. Maybe search for threads I've posted in the 944 forum, I know I posted weights of things I'd removed in one of the build threads possibly.

I'm just now starting to get organized with my data. It's still spread over several computers, I need to get a TB drive to back everything onto or something.
At my peak in college, doing research, writing iterative solvers and suspension kinetics simulation programs, running computation fluid dynamic simulations, finite element models etc.. I was generating upwards of 4 GB of data per day.

Yikes... If you stumble across anything pertaining to the silver car shoot it my way please.... I'm ready to tear into it. I have the plan for fprep. Need to double check the rules and then start tearing it down...

Being in OK and having garage to store the car in ther winter... it doesn't need all that heavy undercoat. Think about that...
Some claim theres 80 lbs to be had there.

Heavier wheels, same tires made a couple of seconds slower autocrossing my BoxsterS. But they sure looked good...
 Tried removing seat, spare, rear cover stuff it was about 100# and running gas at 1/4 tank. Not enough to make much difference.

When I had my 2001 S I thought it only needed about 25 more hp. Oh, and a more aggressive sounding exhaust.

Remember to double check torque on those CV bolts now that you've got the tranny back in.

That's one of my snags... I'm putting in the stage 8 bolts which have an 8mm 12pt head.... We don't have that socket and it would seem one can't be had in Clinton...

napa has them but you need the part number. otherwise, they can't figure it out. ask me how i know. they might be able to look it up if you call it a "bit". i am assuming that you are referring to the "cheese-head" style bolts. give me a minute and i'll see if i can come up with the part number for the right tool.

Nope I've got those... The Stage 8 locking bolts are basically the reverse of that. I need a 12pt socket in 8mm....
