That's fair.

The history I have heard. My bed time stories, other than the typical Brothers Grimm, Little Red Riding Hood and other classics, were my moms war stories. I can't imagine living there during those times, but at the same time, I can.

My grandfather was in the merchant marines. They were pulling out of New York in the early 30's ( I believe that was the time frame) as they were heading back to the Father Land, he jumped off the back of the ship, swam to shore and requested asylum. Imagine that, a legal immigrant. My grandmother came over very soon after that.

My Grandfather was an amazing man. He went to Penn State, and was a petroleum engineer for Arco. He would collect scrap pieces of wood and make ship models that were simply amazing, and the glass cases for them. Unfortunately he was a violent alcoholic, his addiction finally claimed him and it was a slow and horrid death. My grandmother was multi lingual and worked as a seamstress. They just don't make people like them any more. (me included)
