if rick put that dress on, and then posed for a picture, he must have a sense of humor. then again, maybe not.... in which case i am leaving the country.

Can't find a gunstore with powder in stock, in the reasonable vincinity.
Called the dude from the shop who sold me the Accurate #7 with Lovex D036 label.. He says he uses it himself, with the Accurate load data.

So went a head and made a small batch with the mistery powder.

I did however, start on the very low side of things.
Set the bugger to 6.5 grain, weighed each load.

There is something to say at the precision of the powder dropping, mostly that it wasn't precise at all.
I'm sure the variation has a lot to do with the press not being fully stable yet.
Once i get that sorted i'll be able to fine tune the powder delivery..

But it's ok, i just loaded, measured each load and sorted them

ranging from
6.3
6.4
a bunch of 6.5
bunch of 6.6
3 x 6.7
and a single 7.0.

That's all well on the low side of what Accurate table posted as minimum safe
And also on the safe side of the Lovex D-036 guestimate.

For a first batch, to figure out where i am.. i think it will do just fine.
I'll fire em one a a time, check for proper ejection, proper feed and clear barrel

If they are weak, then i guess the due was right, and the AA #7 load data is in deed right.

for ****s and giggles, this is just practice and getting used to the Dillon.
In the mean time i can source a better dealer, who can provide me with better powder and data...

Yes you need stability in order for the powder to flow and measure correctly.

yep, i noticed.. if i pulled slower, while holding the frame steady it was more consistent.
Got the bench bolted to the wall, and a strong mount to be delivered this week.
Once i get that setup, it should be rock steady.

When was into shooting was reloading for 357 Magnum Desert Eagle and Jerico 9mm/45acp.

Used the Hornady Handbook.

It's been a long time, but seemed to remember being careful what went thru my pistols to maintain their operation (gas operated semi auto) and accuracy.

Last time I picked a gun up was able to put the whole clip in the center spot on a 25yd pistol target.

The issue I have is not a lack of books, but a lack of choice of powder..
The only store within a 50 mile radius that has powder, has an oddball powder that used to be accurate powder but no longer is.. There's a warning on aa s website that their info does not appy. And the oem lists little info that is way off from aa's values..like half.

So I have to try the safer , lower setting and see how that works..
If the gun does not cycle, then I raise the load till it does..
I don't need max loads, just enough to cycle and have consistent accuracy..
Once I figure that out, I'm running a big batch till the powder is gone..
By then I hope to have a better source for better powder..
