naw, i'm good for the time being.

Got 200 rounds of moderate power ball i loaded, gonna try those out over the weekend
Just want consistency out of those. For warmup and for pop up targets soon.
A nice, safe load that i can put out in volume
And not wear out the brass...

And got a test batch of semi wadcutters, those i want accurate, not max power either.
These i will try to make my match made bullets.. for bullseye type club competition.
Match i mean i will hand measure the powder and make sure the brass is all equal and very clean in and outside.
nice clean holes. preferably all next to eachother

For tactical, i'm sticking to Fiocchi factory ball,
they always go bang, they are full power, always feed and eject.

And they make for a continued supply of new, good brass.

Stijn, I am curious. I know you did a cost / benefit analysis of the reloader.

Assuming a 10 year life of the reloader how much cheaper is it to buy the reloader, pay for a place to keep it and all the supplies needed to reload versus just buying factory loads? How much do you have to shoot to make it worth while?

Or is this a hobby that the first rule applies. Never add up the receipts.

So far i shot 750 rounds something bit more then 2 months?

Box of 1000 rounds costs 350 euro
Box of 1000 rounds reloaded costs about 2/3rd if i use FMJ bullets
The reload gear, i bought for about 1200 , everything from press, dies, options, scale, boxes

So i make 116 euro profit per 1000 i shoot
After 10 000 rounds i start making a profit. with the reloaded rounds.

Which won't take long if i keep shooting at the rate i have been shooting.
In fact, because they are reloads, i'll probably shoot more of them.
I'm just doing more with the same amount of budget

But truth be told, it's a hobby in it's own right as well..
It's a fabulous piece of kit, plenty of tinkering to do with it.
I like it alot.

you should check the case lengths before each reload. They will stretch on you in that 45 auto.

but it should take a few reloads till they do, so i keep em sorted according to how many times they've been reloaded, and i measure the batch..

Good call on keeping them sep. It really depends on several factors. How the bullet it crimped if crimped and the pressure built up by the load. Another good thing to do if you can help it is to make sure all the cases are the same manuf. Some surplus brass is really cheap. I had a few .223 cases split at the neck this summer. Makes for a boring round of ar-15 shooting.

The granddaughter has stalled out, She can't make up her mind as to when to get here. Proof again that it is in the DNA.

Bwahahahahahaha when she came back from AIT she told me she could put me down before I could blink. That was funny to watch. She couldn't get my hands under control, couldn't get my knees to buckle and she actually hurt her hand when she backhanded me in the chest. I should say I didn't give her a clean shot at the nads. I believe she may have tried that one.
