Friend of my Dad liked working on cars. I remember watching when I was a little kid. His wife managed his tools. He would ask for a tool, then hand it back to her when done with it. She would then clean it and put it back in the proper place. His garage was immaculate. They also wore matching overalls when wrenching. He had a very very fast old car.

i crawled under ingrid to look at the placement of the fill and drain plugs on the transaxle, as i'll be changing the fluid very soon. i found one of the CV boots is ripped..... i guess i'll order the boot and grease and learn how to change it out. last time this happened, i wimped out and took it to the shop. my excuse, partially, was that i didn't have the triple square wrenches and neither did sears. i don't have that excuse, as they carry them now at pepboys and i bought some the first time i saw them.

disassembly was over 12 years ago.... it got put back together with self-locking stainless SAE nuts and bolts. not that those helped it to stay together.....

me? i sold it. thank the gods.

lord, it was fast. in all seriousness, i could keep up with the modern sport bikes in the canyon. i bet it was pushing over 60HP, but weighed about 325 pounds. getting up on one wheel was not a problem. it handled really nicely, also. but for every hour i rode, i could count on at least two hours of wrenching.

Well that is good to know I am not getting on everyone's nerves but there is no big news so I'll just hold off on posting.

bar-end mirrors are the way to go. the stock mirrors on most sport bikes are completely useless.
