What's up with that? Did I scare everyone away?

Glen, you kinda look like Jeff Zwart in your facebook photo.

It is fun to put a face to a Pelican avatar (which may be a car).

Does anyone know if the failure shear strain for unidirectional AS4/3501-6 Carbon fiber-epoxy composite is engineering strain or tensor strain? The symbol is gamma which in some notations is used for engineering strain with an epsilon for tensor strain, but other notations keep the gamma for tensor shear strain. The difference is just that engineering strain is twice tensor strain but it makes a big difference in failure prediction. The handout I have of material properties does not say.

The book uses gamma for both so it is really hard to tell what they are using but the instructor uses gamma and epsilon to differentiate. In one problem I saw them mention gamma and it turned out to be a tensor strain. But that was not a problem from the book.

Well i would guess that it will be a tensor strain, and the engineering strain would be something for directional CF epoxy composite. But it could be the other way around just the same , i know jack chit bout those things

I love dark eyes. And in order of preference: raven, brunette, or red hair.

I never seem to remember Facebook. I joined originally just to find one old friend. I found him long ago. I just dislike their policy that anything and everything you upload becomes their property. I often go two months without visiting Facebook.

Ant the failure shear strain for unidirectional AS4/3501-6 Carbon fiber-epoxy composite is 7, or is that orange.

Usually it is easy to tell the introverts from the extrovert engineers. A introvert looks at his own shoes, the extrovert looks at the other person's shoes.

One of my buddies was the Engineer of the year twice at AT&T back in the late 70s & early 80s. Back when they were the only phone company in America. No one knows what color his eyes are because he always stared at the floor when he talked to you in person.

Is it an oxymoron to say I am only introverted with people I do not know, and more normal/extroverted with people I do know?

I am a total extrovert. I can become best friends with someone I met on the elevator. Which is very ironic, Max, because when I was in high school and college, total introvert. Guess growing old and not giving a crap wha other people think of me anymore gave me a voice.

My SIL is always amazed that my brother can strike up a conversation with total strangers. It does not matter where or who but he will chat with anyone, male or female. I amuck the same way just less talkative. I can sit in a room and just listen.
