Get off my lawn!

So Sid, tomorrow is the BIG birthday. The big 21. Are you going to be conscious and upright for the autocross tomorrow or all hung over? Are ya gonna start drinking at midnight?

Don't do anything I wouldn't do- I wait, that would be really boring.
So, Do everything I wouldn't do! ![]() But seriously, be safe. And don't make any drunk text messages to your girlfriend. I never understood the whole (lack of) thought behind drink yourself under the table just because you are now 21 years old.

I thought you were supposed to go to a bar where they ALWAYS card and order an Appletini or some such girly drink that would cause suspicion so you get carded. Then proudly whip the card out and say it's your birthday in hopes of getting a free drink.

Well, i wouldn't know the rituals down there, but down here i'm sure such an occassion wold get you drunk, and abandoned nekkid and tied to a lamp post..
Then again, we got no drinking laws like you lot, i just chugged beer in the pub at 16..

Sid looks over 21 with the beard, so I don't know if that would work.

Get off my lawn!

Back in the stone ages when I was 18 it was legal to drink on base, but off base it was 21. About all I cared about was beer and that was easy to score most places. I don't think I was ever carded until I was 22 or older. A buddy of mine was the bouncer at a local bar. His favorite thing was to ask a late 20 something cute lady for an ID. They usually gave him a hug and a kiss and were happy to show ID.

A few months ago a waitress insisted I show her ID to order a beer at a restaurant. She said it was corporate policy. It was no big deal to show my ID. She said some people get all bent out of shape about it.

I love it when somebody cards me! But then again, I rarely go to places that card you. And I rarely drink. Max, I am with with you... Sidney will probably have more fun on his birthday than I have the last decade.
hmmmm... Come to think of it, I did have a delicious Bloody Mary two weeks ago...Oh, and happy birthday, Sidney! Don't have any nice pics like the others boys have shared, so you'll just have to take a raincheck on a drink if you and your dad come out this way again.
