Have fun at work Rick.

Richard, as you know it takes very little silicon to ruin a O2 sensor. Just a squirt of WD-40 will do it. I also wonder about the intake powder-coat, and any gaskets. Anything with silicone that can get through the combustion process when the engine is first started can do it. If the engine cranked for a while before it started that could do it. Just a residual spray of WD-40 in the intake and no ignition can kill them.

As least that is the information I read about on some web site. I suspect O2 sensors are tougher than that. I have never has an urge to test them. Your arm looked nasty. Too bad it did not leave a Porsche crest branded into you arm. If you have to have a burn a cool logo would be better. Of course it would be in reverse so maybe that is not so cool.

Pete, I presume that trailer belongs to you. It is amazing it did not bend or collapse with many times the designed load. Is there a way to have it checked to KNOW that it is not bent or something is about to break?

Even the P from Porsche 32V on the intake would be fun. I could say I got P on my arm, see.

ah... g-man.

well, i am screwed. i got the car back together, but it won't run, barely starts. i know i destroyed the #4 ignition wire. i tried a repair, but it acts like it is running on two cylinders. total bummer and the wires are really expensive.

That is so sad.

Sorry to hear about the burns and 928 running troubles. Sounds like your mechanic needs a reality check in regards to doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.

Bummer on the plug wires.

i left the paper towels in the intake. i started it. i got two out, complete. i think a third was removed before assembly (why i didn't remove them all, i have no idea. there was no beer involved.). at least half of the fourth paper towel is down in the cylinder.

i am fkd. truly.

i can't imagine that this won't require removing the head. i think it is possible that cylinder four simply sucked the whole thing into the cylinder.
