Get off my lawn!

I finally got over one hurdle. I could not get the dang mirrored raid to work. From the first smoke test I heard a funny click. I thought it might be the power supply. It was one of the hard drives. I grabbed a drive from the other system I have not built yet and the rainbows came out and unicorns were leaping in joy. The RAID set up in seconds with no need of a dang USB floppy and Win 7 started installing. Now I still need to figure out how to get the network to work.
![]() We have a request for a RMA to send the bad drive back. The joys of building computers.

Whoohoo, Friday ![]() Evening Gents Why can't the knobs just make a computer or bits of hardware that just works when you plug it in, without spending hours configuring it (and that doesn't have an apple logo on it)? That just really gives me the 5h!ts.

Tomorrow my big project will be how to make the network work. I have installed the drivers, the system sees the network adapter, but it is convinced the calbe is unplugged. I stuck that same cable in a laptop and it saw the network with no issues. I just need to learn how to configure stuff in Win 7. This is the first time I have ever used Win 7.
My head hurts from all this thinking and learning.

Showed the team the car today. The girl was pretty excited to see it and sit in it. She was looking forward to driving. She called her twin sister who had driven her to school today so they both were checking it out after the other guy had left. I also showed them some of the carbon fiber and the girl on the team thought it was neat but her sister did not seem as enthused.

I agree! The motherboard has a INTEL network card built in. One would think Windows would recognize an Intel product. The sound card, does not work either. I am sure it is just a simple setting that I just don't know how to do. I do have some local nerd friends that owe me a favor that I may have to drag over to the office.

Problem is that the consquences of getting rejected are a lot bigger than normal. Thinking of coming on more lightly/smoothly over time.
