Back when I was a design engineer, I had extensive experience with hardware, software, and firmware.

I find that anytime I mess with hardware I have to get new software drivers and if I modify the software or firmware I usually need different hardware.

D, helped my spec out the parts to build new computers from a box of parts.

We have one software package that we use that cost as much as my first house. It makes the orthophotos that are the core of our business. The old Win XP 64 Pro twin CPU system with 8 gigs of RAM made one ortho in 46 minutes. The new box does it in 12 minutes.

And for the few that are curious just what a orthophoto is:

We are shutting down at noon today.

Then 4 1/2 days of Thanksgiving! Steaks tonight, turkey tomorrow and Friday and Saturday and Sunday!

I am one of the folks that love Thanksgiving turkey leftovers. My wife can't go more than two meals of the same leftovers. I can finish it off.

I love them, too. I'm going to lobby my wife to make green chili turkey stew and turkey and dumplings. Mmmmmmm.

My MIL is coming down to our house this year to help cook. She has an slight gluten allergy so she can't eat much dressing but it is one of her favorites. She makes a lot of stuffing.

Will do. My wife is an intuitive cook, and to her, recipes are just for guidance. Often times, when she makes something, it's slightly different than how she made it before. And she substitutes ingredients that she's missing without the slightest hesitation. Most times it works out well. Most times.

Kimray employees and retired employees (or their surviving spouses) get a frozen butterball turkey about a week before Thanksgiving every year. Nobody made sure either me or my Mom got our turkey this year. My brother (that has been doing all my shopping) got his.

I don't really care, I usually give both of the turkeys we get away. Two 13-14 lb turkeys are just s little much for two people.

I never worked for a company that gave turkeys to their employees. My father did. It was always cool to see him come home from work in the days before Thanksgiving with a big box with a turkey inside. We were a family of six, so it was a nice benefit for us.
