That was the new designed low compression no cam engine. Funny thing is the leak down was the same as when the head was still on.

Spent the day getting everything disconnected on my daughters Kia Spectra so i can yank the motor out tomorow.
Apparently she doesn't think her car needs any coolant in the radiator

Put air into # 1 and it came out of the other 3

Hell just pull the head send out to be decked and regasket it. You really can't hurt the lower end of a Kia unless you starve it for oil. That and it is much easier than an engine, JMO

Very possible, i didn't know the extent of the damage. Hmmmmm sounds like the daughter should help you with this one.
On my way home tonight there was a Nissan altima that was knee deep into a tree, no lights on in the car and the two cops that were there were not in any hurry to do anything. I have been waiting to hear the wrecker go by but nothing yet. Never a good sign

That doesn't sound good.

Found a 14K mile motor out of a 2009 at a salvage yard nearby ( well 100 miles one way) for $440.00
Just have to print up a payment book for her.

Pete, just get your daughter a 911SC or Carrera, it will never ever run out of antifreeze.

No I say hand her a wrench, you know the real result of her actions. More than one time I made my daughter try to fix her mistakes, she learned

exactly, at least she will get to realise that she has to look after it, I used to get the boys to look after their dirt bikes, now the eldest has to try to look after his car, although it is a modern so a lot of the time you need the right tool or computer software ****.

My dad let me have an interest free loan to buy and pay for my first car. He told me I was 100% responsible for all repairs and gas. He never put another dollar or touched a wrench to it.
