Probably was the standard at one point. Then some hair brained fashion became the new fad.

The only thing standard now-a-days is that nothing will remain constant

That is the ticket...

I mounted the "frame" using magnet so it can be remove when we use the convection to dissipate the heat.

We went to a fun party tonight. One of the guys that showed up at PCA events when he was 17 had a birthday. Andy has grown up. He turned 40 today. It does not seem possible a kid that had to wait until he turned 18 to join the club has turned 40. He is married, has twin boys and lives in a very nice gated community.

It is a built in unit. A GE brand Profile unit. The GE replacement is over $1,200! Ain't gonna happen. In all the years we have lived here we have never used the convection feature or the sensor feature. The big challenge is finding a unit that fits the hole in the cabinet. The hole is 25.5 wide and 17.5 tall. I guess I will post a question for the brain trust.
< $50 for a new magnetron, and small change for a new PFN capacitor. Both are easy to swap out. They're about the only things that go wrong in a uW oven (other than the fuse). Done it myself several times. Often you end up with a slighly more powerful magnetron to stick in it.

Open it up, get the part numbers off them, and google away 'till you find a parts supplier.

You may even get lucky by googling the oven model number along with the word magnetron and or capacitor and price, and have replacements without opening up the unit.

Genius idea.... But is it just me or is that microwave quite a few years old?

33 years old... Convection but no probe back then, $1000 (just about 30/year). Had to replace the light once.

I think the new one are chipped to go South after 4-5 years

Morning Y'all
And to set the record straight, when things go bad they go north, not south

My microwave has had the magnetron replaced once. The real problem is the door switches. It would not come on at all sometimes unless I slammed the door several times. I heard a pop and everything is dead. I am sure it blew a switch. I found the service manual and the process to fix it is very involved. It is a low power unit and time to go. It looks like 300 bucks will put a bigger 2 cu ft 1100 watt unit in place.

We went to see Skyfall at the IMAX theater. Wow great movie and great special effects and IMAX is so sharp.

Don't set it at 11 that would annoy them. 10 is enough.

Just did an interesting experiment and the results suck. No matter what search engine I use, the ads on facebook change to the last search I preformed. Well except for the Asian hooker
