max, i like my coffee like i prefer my women (wife): blonde, bold and strong. i don't like my coffee 'black', nor do i like it sweetened. but, strong and flavorful coffee, trust me i can differentiate the taste(s) of coffee, with half and half or (oh, my!) cream is the biz.

i only have one cup a day. any more than that and i have the 'coffee sweats' and don't find drinking coffee to be a pleasant experience. i like to draw out that one cup for an hour, maybe more, restfully chatting with my wife.

sort of. it was such a pain last year with very little success.... i have a new plan and will probably test it out. i have all my cultures. as soon as the holidays are over, i'll start up some jars of oyster mushrooms and see if my new idea has any merit.

actually, the coffee is a main part of their growth. fungus really likes to grow on coffee grounds. you can test this yourself by taking some coffee grounds, with or without the filter, and putting it in a not-quite-airtight container for a few days. that white stringy growth is fungus.

coffee grounds seem to foster fungal growth.

I used to drink a caffinated diet soda once per day. That led to a caffeine headache at about hour 23 unfortunately. So I try to avoid caffeine now. I can still have the occasional caffeine hit without a headache, though,

I gave up soft drinks around 2005. I've had a Fanta here and there when I am out and really want something besides water and they don't have lemonade. I also broke down and had a few Red Bulls while in Europe, but mostly because I needed the caffeine.

I still have a cough. Napped most of the day, went to my parents in the evening to gather some of my things for the PP gift exchange. After chatting with my parents and a couple of their friends for a while, I decided that I was getting tired and it was time to make the 10 minute journey home. Better, but not quite fine.

Sounds like a busy day.

We didn't get home until after 3am - didn't wake and evac the fart sack until midday. Did some house chores, helped Sharyn make a trifle for Tuesday (for those that don't like Christmas pudding, and for those that want to pig out on both), then went next door for some more Christmas cheer and a swim.
