We got the great luck of getting the trainee FedEx driver just before Christmas. They delivered one of our packages we had shipped to us for early AM delivery to an address that only had a few of the address numbers match. It was a computer printed label and very clear. The dumb driver delivered and put it on the front porch of an house. We are a business and there are no houses in our area at all. When it had not shown up long after it's due time we started calling. They suggest we could go it it. After a little discussion we explained that they are in the delivery business not us and it is their job to bring it to us. They finally sent a manager to that house to retrieve the package and get it to us. We finally got it at about 3:45 PM. They did decide that we could get a refund on the shipping cost. I suspect that driver is a former delivery driver. I sure hope so.

I know they have human drivers and humans make mistakes. But some mistakes are not acceptable.

I thought I made a mistake once, but I was wrong.

How do I say this....the neighborhood it went to, I think I might just have to let it go. It went to our rental house we had when we first got married in a bad part of town. The only reason it's possible I may end up getting it is because the same people still own the house. The owner worked with the hubs for a long time and we still know a lot of the same people. I called hubs to get him to track down his number and retireve it. Fingers crossed.

Dang stupid Texas surveyors. Most every surveyor in Texas was either drunk or thought the world revolved around some spot they were surveying in Texas. We are working on a project that is in Texas. We flew it and mapped it accurately. All of our map software puts north straight up. The property is tilted 2.75 degrees off of true north. The property has fence lines and roads and everything is angled over 2.75 degrees. The client wants us to rotate the world to fit their property so the boundary's look square not tilted. If I rotate the entire image all of the text will slant 2.75 degrees and look stupid.

To make the print that is 6 feet x 10 feet to look square I have to rotate the image only 2.75 degrees, bring in the text on a separate layer, then rotate the north arrow 2.75 degree off to point to real north. All because some drunk stoned or stupid surveyor in Texas can't figure out north.

Go ahead, Glen, let the CAD hate out... I'm here to support you. I hate civil drawings.

I told the client it might be easier to bulldoze the refinery and built it again square with the rest of the world. He did not think that was a good idea.

The real topper, they are going to hang the print sideways with north to the east. What the heck, I don't care. They are ordering 10 copies of a 4 different of huge prints. We love customers like that.

Easy, they had a big commette meeting and decided as a group that was the best way to display the prints. We have been working on the project since May 2012! They have had endless meetings.

After my third conference call of the day, I feel the Monday blues going on in this thread.

Soooooo, I decided to have some fun. Planned a pole dancing and sushi party for my girlfriends and me for Saturday. In lieu of Valentine's celebrations. The girls get a discounted fee for the class and my cousin and his friends have a sushi catering business. Cheap party for me and something fun for my gal pals without men. No time to get all mopey about not having a guy on Valentine's Day! Hoping some of my married friends will come too... their husbands will like it, right?

When I worked at this shop before one of the biggest issues was that I do NOT work on VW or Audi, under any circumstances. That was overlooked several times and almost resulted in the owner having his teeth knocked down his throat.
Well when he and I discussed me returning to this shop it was made perfectly clear that I refuse to work on that substandard crap that devaluates the property when it is on it.
Today they handed me a VW with an electrical issue that no one can seem to figure out. Yeah some people got an earful of some phrases that would make a drunken sailor blush.
I have shaken a few bushes and the end is very close for my employment at that shop.
You think I am going to give notice? HA!, they will notice Peggy backing into the shop to haul my tools out.
