My brother and I built a fun gadget. It was a steel cable run through two pulleys on two limbs wide apart of a big tree. He is 2.5 years older than me so since he was bigger he would jump out of the tree while I was standing way back away from the tree on a picnic table. When he jumped I was pulled into the air and flew across the yard. When I landed it would pull him back into the air. We could use leg power and jump back and forth for several minutes. We could get 8 feet in the air. It was a lot of fun until the cable broke.

My mom about had a heart attack when we saw the rig for the first time. My dad was in Korea at the time away from us for 18 months.

That sounds scary but fun at the same time.

My dad always said (with four girls) that boys are idiots. He said he never had to worry about us. Said he never had to "child proof" the house with all girls. But as soon as my uncle and his four sons would come over, my dad said the first thing he caught the boys doing was almost trying to stick something in the electrical outlet.

Don't ask me. I kill plants. Although I have had a poinsettia plant that I have been able to keep alive somehow for over two years.

That old heavy Sting ray bike had about 5 extra pounds of welds. I broke it several times jumping things.

My brother & I built a motorized bike from his bike. We did not know how to figure out the brakes or a clutch so we had to just kill the engine to stop and use engine braking to stop. The funniest thing was we kept breaking the bikes drive hub. We would go to a old Japanese bike shop and the owner was amazed. He would ask "how you Haole boys break that? I have never seen one broken." one week later we were back after breaking another one. We never told him he had a 3.5 hp motor on it.

I had a metallic purple Sting Ray knock off from Sears. Me and my buds had a contest to see who could make the best choppers out of our bikes. We used tubing jammed on the ends of the forks to extend em. Things were great until an extension fell off...under power.

I graduated from pedal power to mini bikes and had a road bike when I turned 16. Guy giving the test told my dad he was nuts and I'd never see 18. Well 46 now and never wrecked the bike. Got rid of it at 20 to finish college but still had fun with it.

All those stories are why I don't do mountain biking. I am too nervous of doing an endo. At least with road bikes you just scrape skin off and it grows back with manly scars. Although it does suck when you scrape the skin off your knuckles and every move you make re-opens the wound.

Just make sure the little guys wear their helmets. Broken skulls suck. I know from experience.

Once again a bird had built a nest in the front of Peggy. I am glad I found it before they had babies.
Just call me a home wrecker today

Good morning, Rick. It sure is nice outside. The attack schnauzer chased squirrels. I have coffee. All is well with the world.
