And granted, most I want to flick on the forehead and go, "shoo fly", but some are I telling end and more mature than the men in their 30s and 40s.

Secondly, it's such a double standard. When a female dates a younger man, she has "mommy issues". If an older man dates a younger woman, it's all pats on the back. I have seen it many times in Pelican. In fact, some of the men are married to much younger women. I say age is just a number. Granted, of course it isn't acceptable to date your students but it peeves me when it is so double sides for women. I mean the men I went on dates this week were 11 and 8 years older than me and nobody blinked an eye. Would it have been the same if I went on a date with a fella who was 27?
You are not a cougar. Cougars are much older. Your's is a reasonable spread...at least for dating. Men have similar problems if the spread is too much.

The piquant and sacchariferous will always attract younger men...especially if they are as vivacious and fit...but I suspect that you will eventually end up with someone older (your choice) based on your posts here.

I have no reason to believe you BUT I will give you
the benefit of a doubt only because I met hubs when he was 23 and well yea some of you know what you are doing. But that does mean you've done extensive practicing.

In the past month, I have had a date with a 50 year old, a 46 year old, a 34 year old, and a 28 year old. The two older men, showed up in shorts, t-shirt, and flip flops. Granted, we live in AZ but still. It's a date. Try a little. The two younger men? Causal slacks, with a nice untucked polo or casual button up short sleeved shirt. They looked like they tried at least. And the other that I was SUPPOSED to go out with (38), yeah, he acted exasperated that I had a conflicting schedule as his and said he was tired of "trying to make it happen". Now, that's just the outward appearance. The older two men were very sweet. But I have met older men just as stupid as the young ones. I think it is very individualized. I would hope men don't stereotype me as the typical late 30s women because they would be disappointed. And I sure hope they don't look at me as a cougar either. Again, sadly disappointed. Dating sucks. That's why I don't like to do it.

Depends on the man...fit, older men with skills tend to stay married and are not on the market (and when they are...it is not for long)...

Sad to say...but you are dating losers...unless your date was a boat trip to the lake. No wonder they are single.

Stijn!!

No, the younger men were very nice. The older men, one did make a comment that he was underdressed. The other was a friend so I think he was trying to make it out to be that he wasn't trying to impress...

There is fine line. I have also gone out with men from Scottsdale and they wear clothes that are totally obnoxious and all they talk about is money. Who freaking cares?

As far as the loser statement, I don't like to say that. Everybody has their type and just because they aren't mine doesn't mean they are a loser. BUT, if they are looking for a certain caliber of woman, they need to step up their game. If they want a woman relaxed and nonchalant like they are, they should continue to show up in shorts and a tshirt. I say be who you are from the beginning.

There is something to be said about having the years that can develop skill, and keeping in shape..................

Yeah I am better now than I was at 22. Tantric ideas can go a very long way.

I agree regarding their game or lack thereof. Sounds to me like these men have no game whatsoever...and I would expect them to be equally deficient in other areas as well. I treat women that I am not even dating better than that. If I were to go out with a woman...even for business...I would inquire as to what they were wearing and dress appropriately. If your date from the night of the photo you posted (black dress) was not wearing a suit...he is a fool and not worth your time/consideration. If it were the first date, flowers should preceed his arrival (earlier in the day)...or at least be in his hand when he arrives.

I don't know any guy that has done the flower thing. And believe me, I would hear that from my girlfriends. Women would want to brag about that. I have heard about flowers after being in the relationship for sometime but for a date or after the date? Not so much. Maybe I need a time machine and go back to the good ole days. Janet have you had that experience? I want to know so I can start expecting more!

next week there is the local Crab Festival, which will be a blast, wearing 5hitty old clothes, and taking a mallet to make short work of the crabs, and there will be beers and softies to wash down the crabs, yum!

flntstone is old school but I tend to agree with him in principle. A guy shows up for a date in flops and a tee shirt??? It better be a fishing date. This shows a general disrespect for the woman and would be promptly turned away if he was dating my daughter or niece. I am not so sure about the suit though. Does anyone in the western US still wear a suit other than a wedding or funeral? 108F in AZ? Suits are long gone.

A gentleman in pressed slacks, a nice collared and buttoned shirt, and shined shoes would demonstrate respect and be allowed in to meet the parents before a date with one of my darlings. A firm handshake, look me in the eye while answering questions in conversation, and assurance that curfew terms would be honored would confirm the date. Long after my girls were off to college they still clarified basic dress code and standards of behavior so there would be no misunderstandings. My girls are no angels but public displays of disrespect in either dress, manners or behavior are not an option. A professional woman in her 30s deserves this much respect at least.
