I had to cheat with the above with google translate. I know about 90% of the words above but didn't know how to piece it together. |

Oh I know.
I guess the French controlled both Viet Nam and Korea for many years. From what I remember there were more French speaking Koreans than Vietnamese. But I am a LONG way from an expert and too lazy to Google it.

I have a lot of French influence in my family. A large portion of my mom's side of the family lives in St Tropez. We also think there is some French ancestors on my paternal grandmother's side. Several of my aunts are French and my cousins are half French. No Korean.

Again as I remember Korea & Vietnam and many other countries in Asia and all around the world were once French colonies. There are many parts of Louisiana USA that are French.
I remember my dad talking about the French speaking Koreans he knew while he was station at Seoul S Korea in the 60s.

OK I Googled it and found this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_campaign_against_Korea_(1866) I guess the Japaneese had Korea as a colony. My history class in high school was a long time ago.

French Doors in these parts are usually two small doors that meet in the middle of the doorway and usually have a lot of glass.
