I got to see what kind of tire smoke a drifting 18 wheelerl makes...holy crap.
I chased the drunk that caused it across the state border, where once I crossed out of a big city, and out of a more upscale state, into a hick town in S.C., I finally got a real police response from the small town. Guy got hauled off in handcuffs. The frustating thing, is as soon as I got back into NC, there was a speed trap sitting there on northbound, you think they could moved him southbound when I kept calling with this guy's location? ![]() Guy blew a 2.0, whatever that means. Rough night with the long chase, rough day at work and tired. I feel like a younger version of Rick not letting A-holes win. ![]() I should drop some donuts off at the Charlotte NC police department that's up the block and explain my displeasure with them, and their complete lack of response, and ask if maybe if I had donuts with me they'd of responded?

Stijn!!
I heard the thing cops love to hear the most is:
"I bet you can't put those handcuffs on me you little pig"

Blew 2.0 probably means a breathalyzer test or BAC of .20.
Over .08 is the legal limit for driving. The average for both drunk fatalities and drunk driving arrests is .17. .30 to .40 is the level of surgical anesthesia and death by alcohol poisoning. 2.0 was probably falling down drunk.

Morning Y'all
When Dad graduated the academy we had a party at his place and wouldn't you know it, his a-hole son had to bring donuts.

On the commute in today it was very dark. The clouds are thick and the possibility for rain today is 100%. The entire sky would light up with lightning on occasion. It is like a giant flash of light for the entire sky. I could not see the lightning bolts but the clouds would all light up.
It reminded me of many years ago we were returning from a photo shoot. I had a portable flash unit made by Norman. That sucker was powerful. The battery pack was huge and it had a belt strap that was several pounds. We would always turn off the battery and then fire the flash to discharge the capacitors. I was sitting in the car and the guy driving had stopped at a grocery store for something. I fired off the strobe to be sure it was discharged and I noticed a lot of the people in the store looking around. They had seen the flash light up the store but did not see the source. It was funny to see everyone looking at the lights. I fired off several more flashes and they were all looking around. The entire front to the store would light up. My fun ended when we drove off.

Sidney, if EVER a police station deserves some donut jokes, its this one up the street from work. I have NEVER in my life seen such bad behavior from "police officers" as this station. At least I have a lot of better experiences in other towns. Texting while driving, use the lap top while driving, changing lanes without blinkers, driving through red lights, turning onto other road without blinkers. Its frustrating to a police car that cannot keep its own lane because he's using his computer. Physical fitness seems to be a real problem with this station to. I'm really not sure what can be done about it. A Mayberry style "Citizen's ayyrest" is not gonna fly.

I'm not saying they don't deserve a donut joke, I'm saying they'd probably pop a knot in your ass for making it!

mmmmm donuts.
One time I went to a gas station convenience store in my newer style Jeep Cherokee. Got a spot right in front of the door and had my Golden Retriever Penny in the Jeep with me. While I was inside paying for a soda I heard Penny bark then it got all quiet. Looking out there was customer standing beside the passenger door of my Jeep looking around shocked and puzzled. After the customer came in Penny peeked up over the dash from the foot well looking at me with what seemed to be a big smile on her face. In no time at all the clerk and I watched as another customer walked unknowingly between the Jeep and the car next to it. Just as he got to the door of the Jeep Penny jumped up, barked loudly, then ducked back down to the floor. The guy about jumped out of his skin then looked around for where the bark came from. Again, after the guy came into the store Penny peeked up over the dash with what seemed like a big smile. The clerk and I watched and laughed as she did this to several other customers. She waited until they got really close, Barked startling the begeebees out of them, then dropped down out of sight to hide. It wouildn't have been nearly as funny if she hadn't been peeking at us between each scare then duck back down and wait for the next one. She got several people both coming and going. Think she was having as much fun doing it as we did watching. 12 years and I still miss that dog.
