Heat is not a problem in Singapore. I resisted traveling there for a long time because I thought the heat and humidity would kill me, but wife won.
We went there and after one day I had no issues with the climate any more.
Also: all buildings, all transportation and so on has a very well setup A/C.

Remember to remain inside the building and close the windows when the "fogging" (killing insects) starts ;-)

Unfortunately, I've never been to Singapore. Have fun there, motion.

That sounds much like around here in the summer. Except for the fogging.

We went to Savannah, GA in freaking AUGUST. One day the heat index was 125F. The heat and humidity was just brutal. We survived.

In August, I'd rather be on the opposite coast.

Holger, if you don't mind telling what does the room cost at the giant hotel with the pool on top cost for a average room? What does the room rate run at the other nice hotels in the area of the track?

I think my top F1 race to get see would be Monaco. Then Spa, then Singapore. Of course if we do Singapore we will have to pop over to see Jeff.

If we do Spa we will have to go see Markus & Geronimo and Stijn.

I had a friend that actually lived in Monaco and he invited me to visit. His apartment overlooked the track. Unfortunately my buddy went and died on me before I had a chance to visit him.

Right now it is all just a bucket list pipe dream. My wife retires next year and we will have more time to travel then.

I am genetically predisposed to NOT visit the orient. Both of my brothers that went to the orient came back with Multiple Sclerosis. Sorry, the risk just ain't worth it.

Only the international lounge at Changi. QF1 (Qantas, Heathrow-Sydney) used to do a four hour layover a few years back. Bloody long day that one

Must go there for a holiday one day. The F1 would be a bonus - maybe an idea for a future gathering?

How long will you stay?
3 or 4 nights, then I'm popping over to Bangkok for a quick 2 day visit. Will have to visit Raffles for a Singapore Sling. Thanks for the tip!

If you go for a Sling, also go to the Orchard Towers and look for a bar called Ipanema. The live music by the Filipino band is great!

And take a tour in the Sim Lim Square and check the many fllors with cheap electronic gadgets.

Been colder and dreary here since Sunday. Doesn't bother me that much but it does my wife. She was born and raised where it is sunny 360 days a year. They would get 3" of rain on average per year.

Joe, how does the tritium work in really low light?

Never been over seas. I have been to Mexico and Canada. Canada was fun, but we were flown to a lake on a float plane and left there for the week to fish.

Well Rick, did my good weather get up there yet? I will have to send some crappy weather this winter but I will send all the good clear weather we had yesterday and today your way.

Well, we had thunderstorms and a tornado warning during lunch today. My wife was walking our dog then. I was sitting in a dry office.

It rained like pouring pee from a boot most of the day, the sun came out briefly on the way home and made it almost impossible to see since the road was wet and the sun was low and I was heading west but it looked good. Thanks Glen and please keep the crappy weather, just remember one of these days I will be sending you weather.

I am in the drought stricken state of Calif.
I will be dog-gone if as soon as we quit watering our lawns... the rains came.

Rained today and that could mean no Softball tomorrow (infield is too wet)
Another bad thing about the rain is that we have to get the lawn mower out more often.
I was just beginning to like the look of a light green/yellow no growth lawn.
Dang-it!

The weather man predicted 2 inches or more from our last storm that Rick had today. We only got just over one inch. We wanted lots more.
