Hi Jeff. I don't know how you can bring yourself to work after such a long retirement training course. Mine was just over a week and I really had a hard time getting back into the grind. Oh well, next trip is in July.

Busy day today for me.

I'm taking care of a wheelchair bound relative and his dad(cannot drive due to medical issues). In-laws are on vacation for a few days so I am going to powerwash and stain their decks as well as clean/detail their truck. I have 3 days to get the work done so I can take small bites until finished.

Son has an award ceremony at the same time the daughter has to be at gymnastics.

Strangely, I like days when I have commitments.

Already have my plan in place and it should be able to be executed without issue.

2 Conference calls, 2 F2F sales meetings, phone call follow-ups, already dropped off the car, kid is at day care, wife dropped at work since we're sharing car ... and whatever else the day throws at me.

The more I have to do the more cerebral I get, everything becomes a mental list and execution prior to deadline is the only thing I'm focused on.

I have a hard time getting back after retiring for just an evening.

Mostly misting here today. Real rain later in the week.

When people make a commitment to get something done so you can finish a project on a certain day and then said person doesn't get it done after putting it off to this day and that I get upset. If you commit to it, do it.

Is it HR's version of a "random" test, or do they suspect something ?

They sent me an email at 8am that I was scheduled for testing at 8:30am. Emailed them Back at 9am saying... I just woke up from this weekend's bender and had to get myself together enough to meet up with an old pot smoking buddy for lunch at 11am to get all liquored up at Twin Peaks so couldn't possibly be ready for testing until after 3pm and could I be rescheduled.

Only reply I got back so far was my boss saying he would check into it, but he thought they were pretty strict.

From the message and schedule it looks like they are randomly testing everyone this time. I have come up on the random list almost every time the last 3 years though.

The reason I question how "random" these pee in a cup drug tests are, is that I havn't been tested since my employment physical 16 years ago, while other employees have been tested regularly, and some more than regularly.
