My office and the rest of my house is 71°F.
It's 79°F outside and supposed to get up to 82°F.

I look at the listings you post, Sid, and think, "Wow! That house is nicer than mine in every objective metric, yet its entire cost is about that of a downpayment alone here in LA.". But then you nonchalantly tell me how it's 112 and I lose that desire to move really quickly.

Rick--I have high regard for you guys that wrench for a living.

My FIL and I have been working on the hotrod Z28 this week trying to find a rattle/clunk/thunk type noise. We've narrowed it down to a cracked flex plate so we are pulling the trans out to inspect the bolts and check for cracks.

What a total PIA!!!! Even with a lift, getting to the bellhousing bolts are absolfrikkinlutely torture.

I spent about 4 hours under the car today and am feeling it now. Still have one stubborn bolt to remove and you can't get a socket on it so I have been reduced to using a wrench that I can about turn about 2mm each stroke.

If the flexplate isn't cracked I may bash it with a hammer just so it was worth getting at it.

In his defense, it does feel mild after the warmer temps in the same way the punches are milder when the boxer lets up on you because he is recouping to go another round.

Wayne, I sympathize with your pain. When I was having problems with my 911 I figured it would be a good time to replace the two sensors on for the flywheel. There is not much room and getting them back it the right position can be tricky. I had fought with the head temp sensor for a couple of hours trying to get the grommet back.

I had called a buddy that is a professional mechanic. He basically pushed me out of the way, and removed and replaced them in minutes. I paid him for what I figured would be a few hours of me cussing. We were both happy.

If you have ever watched a real mechanic work they can do things a ton faster than us mere mortals.

In the end my 911 problem was the dang coil. The good news is I had the sensors on the shelf ready to go since I planned on replacing them before they went bad.

The good thing is the car isn't a DD so time is on our side unlike if it was a customer's car.

We decided to call it a day about 2pm as we were just getting frustrated with that last bolt. We will probably attack it again on Sunday if he feels like it.

His barn is setup as well as any pro garage so having the right tool is never a issue. He isn't organized so you spend alot of time LOOKING for the right tool, though.

Have a safe trip to Indiana!!

If you do something enough times, you learn how to hold your tongue just right.

It's only 90° here......with a heat index of 109°

You should try doing plus and wires on a disco ii.....there's a reason LR bills it as an 8 hour job

Just get one with a Pool! I just hopped in ours for quick swim while I was vacuuming it! Phoenix is a cheap place to live, despite the heat!

My Ramcharger was easy. Open the hood, sit inside and go to work. 20 minutes later you are done. The Durango wasn't bad either. Dad's minivan was a pain though and it was only 6 plugs.

Joe, sounds like HHI is supersaturated with moisture.

Sunny and mid 70s here today. Tomorrow, probably not.

Wayne, you have my sympathy, I hate transmission work.

Ouch.

Just think it is just June. July and August is when the real heat cranks up. That pool will feel like a hot tub.

Evening Y'all
One of the only benefits of being a wrench is the getting paid to stay in shape and the grip strength. Any mechanic who has been doing t for more then ten years can crush just about anything with one hand and the only people we fear is a brick mason.
NEVER let a mechanic get his hands on you if he is angry, you may not survive

This is unseasonably hot actually. Won't get much hotter than this all year...

But yes the pool will be too warm soon. I'll start running the aerator a few hours a day and try to get the temp down a bit. Its already at 88 now.
