G'day all

I've had a busy work/sleep kinda week and am looking forward to the weekend.

We fly to Sydney tomorrow for the Hangover part 4, followed by the wedding on Sunday (if we remember where we put the groom on Saturday night)

Nice looking pussy Rick.

Morning Y'all,
Well I went down to the new digs yesterday, like I usually do anyway when I am not working, my son works there, and did some option looking as to what I am gonna do about my phone service that doesn't work down in that bottom. I really don't want to leave AT&T since they have been very good t me and nobody can touch my plan (I have gotten several $50 gift cards for having a plan the others can not beat) so today I am gonna swindle AT&T out of another microcell.
Kitty news, it seems to be getting much calmer here with Nero, the only one that is still barking at him is Missey and she is just an old grouchy beioth who barks at everybody, so I am calling Nero assimilated.
I was supposed to move my tools in today and start work on monday but the guy I am replacing HAS to stay for another week to finish up a few personal projects he has laying around there so I have to take another week off, sucks to be me sometimes.

The head aches are probably from listening to Connor's county & western music. I will say C&W is better than RAP but that is not saying much.

Do you have those customers that are simply not capable of doing their own job?

We had a client order some very specific aerial maps and it was a duplicate of what we had done a few years earlier for them. Back then they had a real intelligent man ordering and using the maps. He retired and was replaced with a new college graduate with lots of degrees and book learning. She must have cheated on the exams to pass.

She changed the dates on the previous bid and set it to us. We did just what we did in the past. She called back and asked what the files with .prj; jp2 & j2w were and if they were like a PDF. Now to explain, a JPEG2000 file is a compressed image file kinda like a jpeg on steroids. We can take a tif file that is 10GB and compress it to 336MB with virtually no loss of image quality. Only mapping programs can open a 10GB tif or JPEG2000 files and it has the main image and two 1KB files that tell the software where the image is and scale.

She can't get PDF reader to open the files and wants us to make PDF files. That is NOT what was ordered. Oh well. I guess I will make her some files to use crayons and paste and maybe a post-it to piece together her pictures. Welcome to 1980!

It is really cool to see the files open up in a mapping program and see the individual images pop in side by side into a seamless image. They are as useless as Congress if you are using Microsoft Paint or want a PDF.
