Well, just got back from our mandatory ergonomic training. 35% of our at work injuries are ergonomically related and cost $500K a year on time off and workman's comp. The national average is 33% and $250K. They stated according to national statistics it takes $16M in sales to cover the total loses from those injuries.

If we make it a whole month without any injuries we each get a company branded Yeti thermal mug.

If my understanding of the human body and strength training is correct, they are implementing practices that are going to cause a lot of injuries in the future due to relying on restricted motion. They now call it natural positions. The second someone gets outside that natural position their body will be unprepared and get injured. I like the Chinese philosophy where workers did exercises before every shift so they were fit and less prone to injury.

Nothing. He showed up and issued checks for pay due to that point and asked for our keys. The locks were changed today and he drove off to Baton Rouge. We will set up and chase anyone with money as customers. No way in this universe can he service our average customer from that far away. They will call and ask for myself or my new partner. We will not be there. Like every business, the business is made up of employees not a building and a phone number.

We will see what happens in coming weeks. If he just leaves us alone and asks us to help on projects everything is fine. We really don't want a battle. He needs us as much as we need him. The difference is we are off his payroll and we get to sink or swim. Many of my friends have said we should have done this long ago.

Many customers have our cell numbers and we have answered calls on weekends and late at night more times than can be counted. Next step is setup our new web page. Hopefully Richard will get that up and running soon.

Well i slept in an extra hour before getting up. My partner has space at his house for us to set up an office for the computers. First real task is a Cat6 cable into the office area. So run some cable and get on-line and get to hitting the the customers with the news.

I remember sleep...last night was not fun.

Almost all of the process that run at night do the planning for our manufacturing and had errors last night. Took a while to figure out what the heck was going on.

One of the programmers rebooted several servers yesterday. Then he logged in and started some, but not all of the processes. Leaving some of them requiring logins as they access data on other servers. This has happened before and was no biggie, just enter he passwords. I even have it built into my monitor script to watch for these notifications and enter the passwords. However, last night it would not accept any of the correct passwords.

Seems the programmer that rebooted everything uses a Dvorak keyboard. His login set the computer's profile for a Dvorak keyboard. Had to eventually call him and have him log out of all remote sessions on all those systems so the profiles would be reset to standard keyboards.

The biggest thing was the main planning program timed out while trying to figure everything out, so had reset everything and start over. Then I had to watch the program chunk along to make sure it had proper access to other servers as it ran.

I like "working from home." As far as anybody knows...cell phone with Personal Hotspot and a Laptop.

Screen on the iPhone plus is bigger, but not big enough to replace a 27" display. Been thinking of getting a 34" widescreen display. Would already have a 34" widescree if it had a built in camera and microphone instead of just speakers.

Phew. This working for my own company is real work. My commute is a whole mile. Maybe 1.1 miles. I have not yet measured it. My partners house has wi-fi but to do lots of large file transfers, gigabit cat 5e is way faster. So up into the attic we went. Ran a brand new cable from the office to the router in the middle of the house. And "while we were in there" we moved around the coax cables for the future when we might change service providers. After a full day of playing Larry the cable guy we got er done.
Then I came home and we met a couple for dinner. Then back home and mow the lawn. It is nice out there now but the weekend is gonna be hot.

I have not made up my mind about parade. I really really want to go, but no paycheck hurts and starting a company is expensive.

Morning all. I got one other computer set up in my home office. It has a pitiful monitor from my closet and a tiny Bluetooth apple keyboard right now. I ordered a dvi to display port adapter and a kvm switch so I can hook them up to my 27 inch 4K monitor. I will do some work from home and sometimes run over to my partners house to work.

Yeah, you'll want to move on from that 9" green screen monitor, Glen.

It sounds like 'fun and games' Glen.

Our little vacation to Sydney is over today - heading to the airport soon.

No joke, we had two computers at the old office running Win 2000. 6 were still running XP Pro. My home computer that I am typing this on now is a 3.5 GHz i7 with 4 cores and 32 Gig of RAM and a two TB mirrored drive. It has more power than anything the office owned. We had to build our killer computer with our own money. Heck we bough a laptop with more power that any computer the company owned.

It will be nice to get to make our own decisions on what to get now. Just need to figure out how to get some business.
