That will come. Good luck.
I think at this point Connor and I will go to Spokane, might not stay for all three days but we will go.

It is just stupid to have to get up and sit down in front of the other computer because the job started there. We don't have any servers. It is 100% peer to peer. We don't use user names and passwords as that is just a pain to do. Just make it available on the local wired network. GRRRRRR,
Too bad I wasn't closer. Did you setup your shared folder as RWM by the user "everybody"?

We have a couple dozen shared folders across our peer network at home. Some are read only like the GoG or HumbleBundle installers and video folders for Kodi. Others are full RWM for our working folders.

You have no passwords for any of the users? Firewall is opened up for sharing, correct? Win 10?

I have every folder set to share with everybody and full permissions for that.

One computer (Call it A) can be read like an open book by one of the other Win10 computers (call it B). The laptop gets this error.

If I try to read a folder on the B computer from the A computer is has this error.

On every folder except one which reads and writes just fine. The rest have the second error above. And clicking that link is useless. Here is the link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/products/windows?os=windows-10

The Homegroup is all set to the same name. There should not be a password anywhere.

I will keep digging on the help sites. There HAS to be a simple way to do this. If not, someone can make a fortune in writing a program that allows Win 10 sharing with no jumping through hoops.

Cant do much with Windows file sharing.

My Windows virtual machine is a member of our domain so all it's setting are managed from the Active Directory Server. Can't do much with it unless I allow the permissions for the computer on the active directory server. The default is set to no sharing and then allowing users access to different shared folders on the server as needed. Keeps the confusion to a minimum. Otherwise they would be sharing stuff all willy nilly and without rhyme or reason.

Morning all.

It is strange to need some item like a small box to ship a hard drive and thing it is right there on the..... and realize it is locked up away. We received a lot of packages from Amazon and we put them on "Box Mountain" which was a pile of boxes that were real handy. Now with very limited space I will not be keeping a pile of boxes. Mrs Carrera will never put up with that. Oh well life goes on.

Howdy Y'all. How y'all are?

Glen, think you can buy "some assembly required" boxes that are flat and don't take much space to stow. Peanuts or bubble pack is a different story.

If you are using a Homegroup there should be one master that sets the name and all others connect to it with a shared password/passphrase.

You don't really need a homegroup for what you are doing but it usually makes it easier. It is probably something simple missed somewhere.

Anyone have a plane I can borrow?

Whooo Hoooo!!!!!!

I whipped it, whipped it good. (Or well)

It would take two pages of typing to lay it all out, but it is sharing like a broke horny crack whore on a Friday night. I can finally see the folders on the other computers and changed delete or modify the files at will.

I just have to hope my router and firewall keep out any bad guys. I did kill the access to the entire boot drive and it is just a work folder now.

And David, I am officially canceled out of Parade. It looks like they are screwing me on meal refunds. I will have two tickets to the Welcome Party and Concours banquet if you want them.

I friend in the local club is going and he can pick up my goodie bag and the rest of the tickets and maybe sell any you don't want.

You should go for the concours and the banquet. The concours banquet is all fancy and nice and they often have a really neat present on the table for all attendees. I was just gonna give ya the tickets. Maybe my friend can sell them to someone.

I think we are scheduled for the following:
Meal: Pirelli Welcome Party (Adult)
Meal: Concours Boxed Lunch
Driving Tour: Lunch Cruise #1

I think that's it.
