Everytime I see pics of this I can't help but feel to hatred to Islam. The thing that pisses me off the most is we still bow down to these a-holes. Where does all the money come from to fund these murderous pricks. I feel for the families of the victims. No one would ever expect this to happen when they said good bye in the morning.
All those rescuers are friggin' hereos. I don't want to listen to that recording |
That recording was one of the most disturbing things I have ever heard.
The scars of 9/11 aren't healed with me yet. Thought they were. I don't have nightmares any more, haven't had them for a couple of years. Then the end of the tape came.... My throat closed down and tears loosened, I remember every minute of that day. Definately not "over" it. Guess I'll never be. Maybe it's supposed to be like that? angela |
ive been listening to the tape a few times per year to wake myself up. after a while the "OH GOD, OH.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" fades and you listen again. much worse than any disaster footage ive heard or seen including the space shuttle or hindenberg because of that emotion, that scream, in the seconds of death consuming a man who couldnt see what was coming. its not possible to feel sorry for yourself after hearing that. .....especially when knowing how many people were saying the same thing at that moment. heavy stuff

Your neighbors to the north share your grief and anger. The good people of Gander, Newfoundland were all too eager to take strangers into their homes when US airspace was closed. I would have too. This was not just an attack on the US, but on all civilized nations of the world. Unfortunately it was the US who bore the brunt of this extreme religious zealotry. We are all still together in the struggle against al Quaeda and Islamic nut jobs. The peaceful nations of the world simply have to be united in this. It must not happen again.

The weather in NY tonight was awful so you couldn't get a view of the klieg lights from a distance.
I took these pictures a few years ago from the Queensboro (59th) St. Bridge.. Working nights, and working on bridges has weird bennies taken with an elph from a bridge that moves I kind of think this as connection from earth to heaven http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1252729052.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1252729071.jpg I was working on another bridge then and got a "to good view" of the second plane hitting. As in its something I saw first hand and the image never leaves my mind.. I see it every day There is someone on this bbs, who thought it was really funny when that photo op happened a few months back where a 757 came in low over the Statue of Liberty...:mad::mad: |

We give it to them, and simultaneously give them the reason to hate us (because we're "infidels" on their holy soil in Saudi Arabia). The sooner we get ourselves 100% onto alternative energies/domestic production and tell them to go choke on their oil, the better off we'll be. Since 9/11/01, how many countless billions of our dollars have been funneled off to our middle eastern "friends"? What exactly have we done to stem the tide of dollars to the middle east (some of which undoubtedly ends up in the hands of extremist, anti-American terrorist groups)? As usual, we're our own worst enemies. We sit here in anger and horror at the events of 9/11 but ultimately are unwilling to change our own behaviors, which created the situation in the first place. I guess it's just more convenient to expect everyone to see the world our way and lob a few bombs at a country (Iraq) unrelated to the situation as a feel-good. We're a very curious (and often a very stupid) nation - always looking for a phony, easy faux solution rather than doing the hard things necessary to effect change. Actions speak louder than words, sadly. We value convenience more than we value assertive action and commitment to changing the status quo. |

PoP and Byron...
please save the political comments for another thread lets not go down that road |
Sorry but it's hard to not get emotional/passionate about this subject.
I'd love to see us honor the memory of those we lost by committing to doing things differently - not more "business as usual". It would show some resolve. That's all. Thanks to all the cops/firefighters/emergency responders on here who lay it on the line for "average joes" every day. |
