Who's the jerkoff that gave this thread one star, you cowardly POS.

Remember 09/11/01 - never forget. And never forget the sacrifice of those who risked (and gave) their lives to save others'.

As a naturalized American it breaks my heart to know that so many natural born Americans have forgotten or could care less.

I was in Boston when this happened (I'm from NY) and probably saw flight 11 take off from Logan that morning. Almost all flights were visible from my office's windows. I still remember my girlfriend, now wife, calling me and telling me that a plane had hit The Towers. I was the first one to break the news to everyone at work. I had several friends in The Towers and luckily most made it out alive.

I just came back from a visit w/ my parents in NY and just stared for what seemed like forever at a 9/11 display at the NYS Museum. They had a destroyed fire truck, a lone police officer's badge and parts of the plane's landing gear (among other things) all on display. I tear up just thinking about what happened that day and all of the good people we lost.

My biggest regret is that I didn't follow my heart and leave my job to see if I could be of any assistance. One of my biggest angers is that most stats include the 19 POS terrorists in the death tole. To those who have forgotten what happened 8 years ago - get the F*#K out of my country! To bin Laden - there are enough of us that have not forgotten. Your day is coming soon.

as i sit here out of work with no prospects, rapidly losing everything i ever worked for, i listen to this poor man and thank god for what i have and remember that 8 years ago i was standing outside watching the smoke, and that smell....it was likely an angel that kept me outside of those buildings that day

I can only imagine what the 9-11 operators went through, staying on the line with them . All the time knowing that there is nothing that can be done.

There is no worse feeling than being with a victim knowing that they are going to die and you are helpless to do anything.

I had just finished listening to that tape when the fire alarm In my building went off. Just seconds. It was just a drill, I have to wonder what genius thought it was a good idea to call a drill on 9/11. Maybe it was suppose to be a reminder.

yes highly disturbing

i had only just declined a job offer in the building across the street, on the 2nd floor..which was totally blown out on 9/11.

I remember the firm owner said, "the job is yours if your willing to work like a dog on the weekends". I got a bad feeling and declined the offer.

A few weeks later the entire firm was destroyed and had to be rebuilt after 9/11....files reconstructed from nothing. I probably would have been in the WTC getting a coffee on that morning, or using the toilet at the Borders Books in the WTC as I was fond of doing....or horrified for life watching people jump

amazing how our paths in life can be affected by a few words

ever since then i have a distinct feeling that my instincts never lie, and, that life can always get worse in an instant

Just listened to the tape.

May all of the victims rest in peace.

I hope the chicken**** terrorists rot in whatever hell they believe in. If they don't believe in hell, may the bugs eat whatever's left of them.

We got married 2 weeks after 9/11. When this happened I was on the road for work 90 miles from my fiance. I called her and told her I loved her, just in case.

Yeah, I was scared about what might happen.

I wonder if anyone has collected stories from people in the city who were connected or right there and put them into a book. I know of a guy who fell asleep on the subway that day and missed his stop... he was late to work... otherwise he would have been hit by the plane that hit the North tower.

One of our guys, Marc Weintraub, who was an active poster at the time had a close call. He went to a meeting in the World Trade Center and found it was cancelled. They appoligised for not letting him know and Marc said he was a bit pissed off as he walked away from the building, then Boom the first plane hit.

Emotionally the close call had a very big impact on Marc and he left NYC. He had a resturaunt business, so I'm not sure what happened to this, and soon after stopped posting here.

I hope all is well with Marc, and that some of the scars are healing.
