Had a CHP get extremely bellicose with me once during a traffic stop. I was speeding. I got caught. I was polite and respectful but the cop launched into an angry jowl shaking tirade that was completely unnecessary.
I asked him if he was going to write me a ticket. He said yes. I told him he could scream at me or write me a ticket but he couldn't do both. He became enraged. He got even worse when I rolled up my window and turned up the stereo. I can still see his eyes popping and his mouth moving. Pretty funny.

A nice unfriendly policeman noticed the 4th pedal [park brake] in my car.
He says, "That's not factory!"......"i'm calling in the vehicle inspector!" Now....i was happy to wear his abuse & degrogatory comments, i even turned a blind eye & resisted the temptation to slap him after his physical abuse, but if he wanted to call in the vehicle inspector [who was 300k's away] then there was nothing i could say that was going to change his mind.......so i remained silent.  He insisted that he was driving my car back to the station. So i was given the passengers seat. Still remaining silent. Then there was a little hiccup.....he couldn't figure out how to release the handbrake. More abuse, both verbal & physical........i remained silent. We sat there in the car for over 1/2hr, burning out my clutch, until he finally figured out that the knob on the dash [which clearly had 'twist & pull' written on it] needed to be twisted & pulled! He was doing one, but not both. Atleast he couldn't say my parkbrake was faulty! Anyway......the vehicle inspector showed up about 4hrs later. The policeman was like a 5yo in a candy store. He took the inspector by the arm & walked him over to my car, proudly pointing to the 4th pedal & exclaming "Look at that!" The inspectors reply......."What?....the parkbrake?" It was about then i stopped remaining silent!

I was bombing along Mulholland from coldwater towards Laurel canyon. The light at Laurel was just turning yellow as i screamed thru it. As i rounded the next left with my landing lights ablaze, L.A.'s finest is making an oncoming turn across my path into a driveway
Choice A- swerve left and cause a side to side impact Choice B - T bone him Choice C- Come to a screeching stop about a foot from the passenger door Doh... Chose "C". I don't think i ever thought so fast in my life with what spilled next from my mouth " Officer, officer... I am SO glad to see you!!" Somewhat befuddled, one of them asks What for? " Well some jerk was chasing me and trying to run me off the road !!" Pause.. they look at the car; a nice RX4 mazda wagon, they look at me,,, and to my luck we all hear the screeching of tires trying to make the turns across the way. PHEW !! "where do you live?" i am asked "Just down the hill here off of Dona XXX" (completely true if they wanted to check) " Get on home !" A- OK THANK YOU !
