So are you going to get one of these stamps people mentioned and keep it, or just give it away?

Make sure there are no schools, churches, playgrounds, etc. to add to the charges.

Well some here will call me a pussy but I'm leaning toward just letting them have it. I don't need my name in their book in red. Was I intimidated? Hell yeah. Am I trying to get my C&R license from them? Hell yeah. Do I want to be turned down for said license? Hell no. Will I want an FFL from them at some time? Hell yes. I'd rather lose the battle to win the war.

Sooo . .. I higher post count makes post more worthwhile, eh? Well, I'm saying ZLP gives some good advice. (oh NO - paradox)

Seriously, who would trust that thing to contain a shotgun blast?

And, if it is inoperable, then it's just a curiosity/historical artifact.

Well that would make you the smartest guy here then wouldn't it. I certainly think you are. As a matter of fact I think you're handsome too.

Seriously, I came here for advice on a pretty serious topic, and he comes up with a smart ass remark...now you know he asked for it.

Well, c'mon, the handsome part IS obvious. But the high post count goes to other (smarter yet) guys.

Anyway, that thing is a cool piece of history. ...would be a shame if it was totally destroyed.

Was it designed to lob a tear-gas canister or a shotgun shell?

Yeah I know. Even the agent said that in the office they were saying that. One guy even said "If I just hadn't called them"...but it is what it is.

It was designed to shoot a 12 ga. tear gas canister. But if you were stupid, say somebody with a low post count, you could fire a regular 12 ga shell. That's what put it over.

And therein lies the problem with the BATFE.
I was a FFL holder for many years until the storefront requirement came about. It was a nightmare trying to get my records to them. Every agent had a different interpretation of what the requirements were.
Hence why I prefer to deal private citizen to private citizen.

Me too. I'm not putting anything but parts on G broker from now on too. I had an air pistol on there and some guy just tried to con me into sending it to Brooklyn. I looked it up and it's a BIG NO.
An air pistol! I said that's it I'm done and killed the auction. Ya gotta know too many rules. And scammers know that.

PS. It's in earth city MO now. :-)

WTF? Where did I jack anyone about their post count? Might want to learn to read (between the lines...and at 13k posts, might want to read a book on occasion instead of relying solely on Off Topic for your info). When I stated "noob snobbery" I was referring to Targa911S for judging the the guy based on his post count.

Anyone here that is concerned about post counts, who's on whose "ignore list", etc. has no forking life.

End of rant.

My mistake, it was ZLP. You just piled on (post #106 on this thread). You sure are a friendly character.

I've been like an expectant father.
My wife's birthday is Sunday, so I'm thinking I make it her B-Day present.

Toaster? Nah, you need to do better than that. A vacuum cleaner or iron is a much more expensive purchase to show how much you love her!

wait a minute...do we have airgun expertise here?

supposin' i was looking for something that is flat to 30yds, shoots .177, is single pump and is quiet enough not to stress neighbors (our hood is 1/2 acre lots and mine backs up to a very large field). what might the experts suggest?

not tryin' to spend shotgun money here. once i get to $500 i start thinking 28ga wingmaster or bps and fooey on pellet guns.
