has more button & front facing camera too

Plus OS4 will have multitasking which will be available on the 3GS but not the 3G.

Is it worth the 40 a month? Idk. Would I have it if money was tight? No. But I can spare the change and it's a rather nice gadget to have.

Bingo - and unlike a normal cellphone; when you get another one you still can use the old iphone as a little music box and wifi device

You can buy USB SIM card read / writers all over the place if you need to duplicate one or copy your info for some reason. The only real reason I could see someone in the US needing one is if they wanted to use an unlocked Euro phone and it had a micro rather than a mini SIM slot. Haven't ran into that problem yet, but I'm still on a Nokia N82.

WiMAX is the closest thing we have to 4G right now so might as well call it 4G. I used it when I was in Chicago and it is quite fast... I just dont know how there is going to be a 4g iphone when att is so far behind with rolling out 4g.

Anyways... looks like a neat device.

They reproduced the classic HP Calculator interface as software. And it's even more awesome than the real thing ever was.

The HP12C and HP11C emulators are not AAPL, they are apps you have to buy ($25 each IIRC). From the days when HPQ made really, really good stuff. Pathetic that they let their calculator division dwindle to near irrelevance. Check out TXN's earnings reports, their calculator business is very significant and profitable indeed, and that could have been HPQ's business. HPQ still makes some good stuff, though.

OS4 will be available and fully functional on the 3GS. It's expected to come out in June.
