That was my father standing next to the strawberry red 356.

Unfortunally one Sunday night in late 1952, when returning from an event in Pensacola, FL to Birmingham, this fine machine experienced a three end-over-end, two roll over. Had the driver, as seen in the previously mentioned photo, been of a sober mind it wouldn't have happened. I was luckly to have been removed from the back seat just ten miles earlier.

Sorry to hear of the wreck. That sounds like quite a crash ! Im afraid to ask.. But did your dad make it out of there ?

Yes..he made it for another fifty-one years. He was a charter member of the Alabama Region of the SCCA. I have a copy of the letter he wrote to the National office requesting the sactioning of the Alabama Region.
