Bo, I'm aware that U.S. foreign policy is not universally popular everywhere in the world right now, but over here we generally make a distinction between criticising politicians and criticising and/or disrespecting members of the military. Especially when they are dying overseas this very moment, (or at least this very day), and especially when they are "family members" such as Leland. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to anyone reading this, and lets all hope that peace with victory over terror will come soon.

Oh, I'm sure Bo was tongue in cheek...but a question for the peaceniks out there. Do you think it was diplomacy that made Khaddafy (however you spell it) flinch???? I don't. Some A-holes understand ONLY the big club. Or in this case, the big bombs, the big guns, and the poor grunts taking breaks in the sand. My gratitude to all who serve...

remember, diplomacy is defined as being able to say "nice doggy" long enough until you can find a big-enough stick! (Churchill, I believe)
Khadaffi has learned to keep a low profile ever since the US picked up that big stick and proceeded to air-condition his tent in 1986. the Lybian bedouin, replete with mirrored sunshades, has learned his lesson on that occasion and does not think twice not to "mess with the U.S." as he has no other threats to his political survival. therefore, he would be a fool to induce anything that would constitute a threat to his rule oh, lest I forget. Bo, we're coming!

I think that the news about Libya is obviously good, but also know that Libya is a non-threat to the U.S. militarily. Iran and North Korea on the other hand......
And yes, I know that Libya has been a breeding ground for anti-U.S. terrorists, but those people seem to still have plenty of places to hide out and plan, which will keep anti-terror forces busy for ever. Still, it is good news, no doubt.

Bo, you really seem to hate Americans. Disagreeing with the US foreign policy is one thing, hell, many of us Americans disagree (in whole or in part) with it, too. But your posts are just offensive propaganda. Please go away and let your hate fester in private. You add no value to any discussion.

Ten years ago I recall assisting the Swedish Defense Ministry (US Pentagon equivalent) evaluate a 200 tank purchase from either US (General Dynamics M2s), Brittish Chieftans or French Leopards for "national defense" purposes.
The US wouldn't sell uranium enriched armor plating or enriched 105 rounds to anyone so the Swedes would be stuck with conventional armor on their 200 tanks or they could buy from Europe (French or Brittish). After the program costs were negotiated, given the population in Sweden, I recommended in person in Stockholm to the SDM to instead puchase one $500 M16 for every Swede in the country. Imagine that, going into Sweden with every Swede armed with an M16 talk about National defense! The Generals at the SDM all had a good chuckle and bought their tanks in Europe. Wonder what they are doing with those tanks today? Bo??

Bo,
Put up or shut up. Anyone can troll the internet for propaganda pictures, you wanna debate? Tap something on the keyboards. There's lot's of folks here who'd not only be willing to listen to you make a fool out of yourself, but gladly help you to see the error of your ways. I seem to remember a country and society that seemed to have no moral issues laundering the spoils and lootings of fascist regimes. Now who was that again???

On second thought, just go away. Mama always said never to get into a battle of wits with unarmed opponents.
