My mother-in-law just raves about the Chiropractor she has gone to for a long time, and my wife has been to him a few times as well. The guy is the team Chiro. for the Minnesota Vikings, blah blah blah. Skeptical, I had to ride along for a visit.

Very nice remodeled office in a nice area, super friendly folks, super nice equipment.

Greeted 10 feet into the lobby by his 2 Golden Retrievers.

Anybody that is a "doctor" ought to know that some people can be rather allergic to pet hair or pet dander, and dogs are the last thing that should be a in place like this when someone is showing up in pain and needs some help. I thought it uber unprofessional.

Quack quack quack game over, validated my opinion of them on the spot.

no thanks.
I ALWAYS try to summarily ignore entire fields of work based on stories that 60 Minutes does. They would NEVER find the singular tip of the bell curve and exploit it in any way, no siree!

On a lark, as what their cash prices are. Some chiros have VERY competitive cash prices compared to your insurance, or will do package deals (buy 5 visits, get one free, etc).

Your narrow-mindedness deserves a thread on its own...

I think you guys are talking about one of the chiros here in town... This dude is always pushing the latest weight loss craze and all kinds of BS. He does lots of physicals for university athletics as well. You couldn't pay me to set foot in his office.

I recently had some back and hip pain. I went and talked to my dads buddy the PT. He diagnosed the problem, I went and got a prescription, and a few weeks of corrections/strengthening I was all better.

Know what's worse? They also push OTHER chiros into carrying that same crap! I think it's because some of them were around during the "get rich quick" 80s and 90s, and built up massive practices and debt, and now that they actually have to work hard to keep an office open, they're all desperate for anything, even those MLMs...

That isn't really a rational observation about the validity of treatment.

"Chiropractor" comes from the Latin "Chiro" (separation of money from insurance company) and "practor" (practitioner of).

Oh b.s.. You guys crack me up. What if he had been naked, instead of dogs? Is that still good treatment?

The way you present yourself and your office is a very rational indicator of what I might expect for quality of service and professionalism.

Walking into a doctor's office or chiropractor's office is a bit different than the owner of a Midas muffler having his dog in his office.

There are alot of people with pet allergies, but most people aren't allergic. I'll bet petting a golden retriever is good for a ten point drop on the blood pressure.

Guess I'm a renegade in this area. I say leave the dogs in the office and get rid of the high formaldehyde drywall that keeps cropping up and the nasty chemicals in carpet/carpet backing and glues.
