Wow! With a machine like that Tormak, I can only imagine how popular you are. Be glad you don't live near me. ;)
|
Yes I'm popular :D But it's also very satisfying!
Again extravagant but that's me... |
Interesting video on knife steels...

Short of that impressive setup a few posts up what is the most user friendly sharpening system?
Need something good for kitchen knives as well. |

Search "sharpening system" (your words) on Google. :) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1700996116.jpg |
I use the KME precision with base ……some of our kitchen knives are too large for it though…..
https://www.bladehq.com/item--KME-Sharpeners-Precision-Knife--55519 It’s user friendly if you have a basic interest in understanding how to properly sharpen a blade and an understanding of what is a proper angle for the edge you are sharpening Also, my results got better once I got one of these so that I know exactly what I am doing regarding the angle https://www.lowes.com/pd/Klein-Tools-Digital-Angle-Gauge-and-Level/5014305589?cm_mmc=shp-_-c-_-prd-_-elc-_-ggl-_-LIA_ELC_106_Tools-Wire-Connectors-_-5014305589-_-local-_-0-_-0&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA9ourBhAVEiwA3L5RFoDcX zFQEQtYFW53e6892-QO7LYGC95XqIfE1-NJLCNrx7LuDpLPlhoCfMsQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds Choosing proper angle and knowing when the burr is ready and knowing how to remove it are the typical challenges to overcome |
I've been happy with Work Sharp sharpener.

Rod do those things require some expertise on setting the angle?

My grandfather’s switchblade.
I’d like to get it fixed up a little bit, but definitely not over restored it. The blade lock is wonky. It won’t always stay open. That and fix the broken handle side. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1701483864.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1701483864.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1701483864.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1701486227.jpg |

Too big for me to embed...a group of old guys called "The slip joint cartel"...all custom makers of old style pocket knives. I'd be afraid to ask a price...fun video, 15 minutes or so..

You’re right. I over fixed up my 50 year old Seiko Pepsi watch, and it lost all of its patina. |
Coming soon, it uses disposable Olfa blades. I will be ordering one.
