Stag handles from India are rare today...for some reason, India stopped exporting stag antlers. Didn't make much sense since they are shed antlers.

I have a Deejo. I've never carried it. I bought it because I liked the design as a kind of minimalist sort of thing. And yes, they weight next to nothing.

I haven't bought any knives lately. Have to check out if any of these would make a nice addition (to my addiction).

I did buy a Leatherman multi-tool a few weeks ago, to replace one I am giving to my daughter as she goes off to college.

I bought a couple of these on sale at Amazon. Had them for 6+ years or more. Nutin fancy but they are sharp and fit my hand well. Pedestrian compared to what you all are posting.

Meanwhile I was wandering around a tool shop yesterday and I found this plastic box. Cheap and "Made in Australia".

Nice. Bet that has an interesting story.

Jeff Higgins 07-16-2023 05:55 PM

It does. A very traditional knife, produced for over 100 years by the same company, now with its fifth generation of company president overseeing manufacture. Entirely hand made.

Doesn't look like much but it's the most valuable tool I own. Jay Hoover "grand pop" was my beloved great grandfather and Marcus Purcell was my grandfather who handed this knife and note to me just before he died. And yes, you could shave with it.

Evans, Marv 07-17-2023 10:03 PM

I've had this melon knife for maybe 60 years. I've always liked it.
