That about sums it up. A lifetime contract.

Non stop purring. Really loud, too.

That's how I got my 2nd black cat, Sadie. Wife and I were at a shelter, walked into a room with probably 30-40 kittens running around. I sit down and boom she comes over, hops in my lap, lays down and starts purring.

She was such a mush that you could drape her around your neck and walk around wearing her like a scarf.

Miss her.

Yup...looks like a lifetime contract has been entered into. :)

Get him to the vet for shots, tests, etc. Without delay. He's your cat now, have to take care of him, plus the FeLV issue.

I was looking at our local place's adoptions page because of this thread. Our cats have both died, the first one about 4 years ago and the second one about 1 year ago. I really liked the first one a lot and didn't realize how much I missed him until my buddy's cat died and I talked to him about my experience.

The take away from that is never talk about your feelings. Ever.

Now, my wife walked in on my looking at kittens for adoptions and walks out of the room disgusted saying 'I don't even know who you are!' (I have been hounding her for a dog for years)

I've had Tiger for 18 years of Joy. He's still going strong!

Here is my man cat Elliott. He adopted us in 1997 as a dumped kitten. Still going strong.

This one is Cheddar. He crashed the party here about a year ago. I have no idea how old he is.

Good move...looks like you have a friend for life...they give us sooo much in exchange for the little we give them.

Update. My feral rescue is doing fine, being allowed to roam the house a bit more. Figured out the litter box but that was while he was confined to a small area. I'm giving him more freedom in the basement and we'll see how that goes.

It purrs like a 6 horse evinrude at idle. I'm trying to get the age from my ex father in law and we may never know exactly. He is guessing 6 months or maybe a bit older and checking with his wife. I was thinking younger so it will be interesting to see how big he/she gets.

It looks like the name will be Houdini given the whole escape and recapture routine we went through over the weekend.

Sounds like you're due for a new lifetime companion....:D

One happy little beast. All of the staff loved little Zelda.
Kitty was purring like mad and slept on my lap on the ride home while my wife drove.

She's so cute! I love black cats! We have Ena. She's ten years old and has at least six toes on each front foot (take a look at her paws)

Bunch of suckers here, aren't we? They do have a way of worming their way into our heart...
