Congratulations on the new addition.
I introduced 2 kittens to my then ~5yo tortoiseshell Tori 11 years ago. It took awhile for her to accept they weren't leaving. She then made certain they knew who was in charge (not me, her). Fred, now 14+lbs and my biggest cat, still lays down and assumes the don't beat me posture when she walks by. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1290229401.jpg Tori - 16 now and diabetic for 6 years http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1290229526.jpg Barney and Fred, 2 and 3 lbs at adoption, now 11 and 14+. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1290229679.jpg Fred loves bags and boxes, current favored box is from Pelican. |

I would let the kitten out and keep an eye on the other cats. I would show the cats the kitten while I held her. Eventually the big cats wanted to start playing. Also, I like the posted pics of all the cat friends! And thanks for deleting the post, Z-man. KT |
The first one has settled in nicely and my son brought a second kitten down a few days ago. I was going to try and adopt that one out but it's settling in as well. This new one had never had human contact until it showed up at my house. Kitty #1 is named Houdini and checked out at the vet in great shape. The new one goes in tomorrow I hope.

My two current companions (mother & son) - I adopted them together a couple of years ago - they're a blast...
The "Little" Boy (when this picture was taken he was about 9-10 pounds, about the same as mom. Now he's about 15 pounds - all muscle - and about 1-1/2 X the size of mom!): http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1290701899.jpg Mama (Lucy): http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1290701925.jpg Cats are awesome. |

Hey Trekkor,
My wife and I have two adult male cats and recently inherited a small outdoor female that came with our new home. Its a horse property so theres plenty of room. We just introduced them slowly and they seem to work things out on their own. The two males are strictly indoors while the new female was primarily an outdoor cat so she seems to be pretty savvy. Now its one big happy family. :) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1290713618.jpg |
I think Z-man's edit could be accurately put in place of any of N!'s posts for about the last two years. He has quite seriously gone off the deep end.
Enough jibber-jabber about strange posts by even stranger posters (and their associated proclivities towards man-cave spelunking or pole-smoking) - more cats! |

I've been spending all day with my cats.
