There are some Korean seafood restaurants in Flushing, Queens that serve live baby octopus....
It comes as parts of a seafood tower sort of...I'm an adventurous eater, but the moving pile of seafood is a little unsettling. |
Slumming tonight, using up some picnic ham leftovers.

That ain't slumming. Slumming is a handful of sunflower seeds and a fruit bar. Crepes are pretty high on the hog.

Tequila-Lime BBQ Grilled Jumbo Prawns.
Cookstr - Tequila-Lime Grilled Shrimp
Bought some special Gulf of Mexico wild caught 15 count/pound jumbo prawns that the store doesn't normally carry. I used a smidge more tequila ~1/2 cup, Add about 1/4 cup of diced Cilantro, marinade with everything but the lime juice for about 2 hours, then just 1/2 hour before cooking add lime juice. I don't use or add the suggested olive oil, or the cummin. QUICK sear only 3-4 minutes a side. DON'T overcook! :D YUM YUM YUM YUM :D http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1337356747.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1337356793.jpg |
Chicken wings. I put tobasco pepper, and seasoning salt. I cook at 200 deg. F and flip them every 5-7 min. Just before they are done I brush on honey garlic sauce. Total time to cook is around 2 hours. Slow but worth it. The beer helps.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1337566743.jpg

This steak is actually cheaper than a Big Mac...
Go figure, this 1.5" thick AAA (USDA Choice) top sirloin grilling steak from Costco, that end up at about $3 per meal. The leftover end up in a curry or a sandwich. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1338162692.jpg |
Ha. Ha. That's is actually how I mentality price meat when I buy it. If I can feed them for $5-6 per head (meat/main only) - the cost of a basic McD meal (less drink) - then I feel that I am 'within budget'.
